  1. DeniedYou are not of the required minimum age, being at the moment 15. Also you left out four entire sections which are all in the application template so there is just no way this being accepted. You may reapply after server release and when you have turned 15.
  2. Denied At the moment we do not see you fit for the Half Life staff team. While your application has a couple good parts there are also many not quite correct but also wrong answers, alongside many spelling and grammar mistakes. You may reapply after server release.
  3. Name: SoothTS Unique ID [Tools -> Identities -> Go Advanced]: 6lb0vZ945EymXZHjiriWYoBQuf0=Requested Medal: 2 Year Community Service MedalEvidence: Extra Information: This is my first cadet logging on CWRP from 2 years ago. Its the earliest evidence I could find myself and the message is still in the channel.
  4. Dear Applicant, I have read through your entire Staff Application in detail. Overall I know you have lots of Gmod experience from NRP. I also see your commitment towards HLRP already. However in my opinion this staff application is lacking. Almost every answer could be more detailed and some answers therefore are not correct. I don't want to go through every single answer in this reply but I will give a few examples: I am a bit confused about how this is never answered correct by anyone, but this question is almost the same as the one just prior. The player is not willing to RP properly, therefore it is NITRP. This doesn't mean it has to be an instant warn/ban but it is something fully OOC and therefore it also should be handled as that, as Klavigar also already pointed out. There can also be a punishment IC, but only if a superior gets informed IC or witnesses it, as if you report it to them as a staff member and they react with a IC punishment it would be using OOC information IC, which is the exact definition of Meta-Gaming, which you also didn't point out detailed enough in your answer on the IC, OOC and Meta-Gaming question btw. This answer is missing any sort of punishment you would give the player for breaking FearRP, which obviously should occur in any form at least, as not knowing the rules doesn't protect you from the consequences when breaking those, which you btw put as a reason for Tier II punishments, which is not really the case, as it most likely is unintentional then, which is a Tier I punishment, but it obviously depends on the situation. Again not detailed at all for an answer that is supposed to be very detailed. Power Gaming usually also is when a player is forcing certain outcomes in situations, which realistically would maybe be possible but for the server just basically don't work out. An example would be a player doing "/me slides one of his hands out of the shackles", as this obviously first of all wont actually happen in-game and the person arresting/kidnapping the player also has no chance to stop it from happening as he only sees the written message when it already happened. Again, there are more questions you haven't answered in detail, in fact every answer could be more detailed. Klavigar and Mauser also pointed out other mistakes of that kind in their replies. Additionally there are a couple grammar mistakes in your application, which could be easily avoided by just checking the application again before posting, if needed with a grammar tool or something. Taking all of this together I would give a -1 but do see a chance of you joining the HLRP Staff Team after reapplying with a better application.
  5. - basically everything what the other replies already said, but especially Pagan - you tend to be mingy sometimes even in your high ranks - your answer to the question regarding City 24 shows you don't know that much about HL as Pagan already said, but it also doesn't reach the minimum word count Because of everything that got brought up I will give a -1
  6. - you have some previous staff experience - you have some lore knowledge but in the question regarding C24 it seems like you put some filler sentences in to reach the word minimum - I am not sure but I think the microphone question is there because it is preferred having staff with mics, so if you are only typing that could lead to problems, but I am not sure - you have not applied for any role on the server yet, which doesn't really show great dedication and actual interest in the server - your answers on the scenarios are at the first ones good and detailed but some of them tend to be very short - other people are replying, saying that you tend to be mostly a minge on SWRP which I cant confirm myself but I also cant say anything against it even though we were in CE together for some time - both the server rules and the punishment list are not finished/public yet, so you ever lied on this one or read something different which both would not be good Overall I would say Neutral, also other people applying might be fitting a lot better for staff right now.
  7. Which Rank/tag do you need: Platinum VIP What is your RP Name on the server(only use one): CE FT SGT Sooth Evidence (A image of your name ingame with the said rank, or a image of yourself on the old forum. Do not post sensitive information such as emails/PayPal payments please: (I just realised I still have the EP tag even tho I am not an EP anymore. So I just need it removed and the Plat VIP added)
  8. RP Character name(s): N/A (Don't have a Character name for HLRP yet since the server is not opened yet) Steam Name: Sooth Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:101271146 Age when applying: 17 What country do you currently reside in? What is your time-zone: Germany, CET Can you speak and type English fluently: Yes Current total game-time on the server: N/A (server not opened yet) IC Rank(s) and OOC Donation Rank(s) on HL-RP: N/A (server not opened yet / I think I will try joining CP and if I enjoy the server I will get myself a Donation Rank as well) Do you own a working microphone? When you communicate do you type or speak: Yes and I prefer speaking. When did you join the server? Have you taken any breaks since: N/A (server not opened yet, I joined the Discord at the first announcement and followed every Update since then tho) How often do you use our Teamspeak 3 server and our forums: I am daily on the TS because of SWRP and NRP and I look at the Forums almost daily but I don't really post anything myself. State all your previous OOC punishments (bans, kicks etc.) and a screenshot of your list of warns: N/A (server not opened yet) State the role of staff on the server: Staff is making sure the server is running fluently, so that everyone has the chance to have his/her personal RP experience. Staff also helps people when they have questions or problems with the server. Practical this means that Staff is taking claims and keeps an eye out for any problems. Give some context about setting of C24 within the Half Life universe: C24, which stands for City 24, is one of the major cities all around the globe, which are by the Combine and Universal Union controlled communities, also known as Metropolitan Areas. City 24 is located in Geneva, Switzerland, just next to the border of France and connected per railway with City 17, which is the only City that has a Portal to the Combine Overworld. C24 is known for its tall skyscrapers, which are used for high quality living but also heavy Combine garrisons, and a strong dictatorship all around the City, which makes the City being full of propaganda and similar things, which Can be compared with the Situation in the Third Reich. C24 is also called the "Royal City" because the government there says to the outside that the civilians there actually have word in politics, which is something special for Combine-controlled cities. The point is that this is not true at all, so the City is just brags about itself by calling themself royal. (167 words) Have you read the server rules and are you familiar with them?: Since the Rules are not posted yet I can't read them but I know the rules from NRP, SWRP and general DarkRP rules so I am guessing the ones for HLRP will be similar so I will get them fast as soon as they are posted. Have you read the punishment list and are familiar with it?: Same as with the rules there is no punishment list out yet, but I read the NRP one so I am awaiting something similar. List of all previous server staff experience: I have been Event Planner on WG SWRP so I know almost everything about ulx and I also took claims when a Staff Member was not available. I also have been Staff in other games and communities so I know how to solve problems between players and follow rules and hand out punishment in general. List of all previous RP experience: I started with RP Servers years ago when playing GTA and Minecraft. But actual RP started for me with WG SWRP in December 2019 where I first joined the CE and in January the 327th where I got up to the rank of Executive Officer and now after some OOC issues I am back at CE. Sometime in February I also joined the WG NRP server where I am now playing the last weeks more active in the OrPo. Have you added the Manager on Steam? If not, add him: Yes I have. Have you added the Vice-Manager on Steam? If not, add him: I send a request. Have you added the Staff Manager on Steam? If not, add him: I send a request. Do you understand that you can be demoted at anytime with a sufficient reason by a Hierarchy member?: If they have a sufficient reason they can obviously always demote. If they would not do that the server could get into critical situations, so these have to be avoided. Explain how you would handle these scenarios as a staff member: 1 ) You are told by a player in admin chat that another player is randomly killing people: If the players gives me the name I check logs for any combat recently. If I don't have the players name I ask for it. If the logs show that there could have been RDM going on I either go to the player or bring him somewhere out of normal RP places. I will confront the player and if he did it I will give him a warn (or whatever the punishment will be for RDM). 2 ) You are asked by a player about how to join a faction: This is not completely clear right now when I post this application but since it will be clear at some point when the server is out I will just tell him/her how to do it. 3 ) You catch somebody not performing RP and messing around: Messing around could be many things but if it is FailRP I will obviously give a warning after the punishment rules. If it is minging I tell the player to stop since it could be harming the other players RP experience and if he is going to continue to do it, that he might get a warn. 4 ) Somebody acquires a rank but is not willing to RP with it properly: I tell him that he has to act in his rank in RP and if he doesn't like it he can obviously resign but if he continues doing it he might get a warn and/or his rank removed again. Depending on what he is doing and what rank he is the demotion or whatever could be a IC thing tho. 5 ) A player is prop spamming: Since prop spamming is kinda dangerous for the server and destroys any kind of RP I would get him like out of the RP area and give him punishment and explain why not to do it. I am not really sure at what staff rank you could do it, but if he continues spamming the props in the sit and they go into the RP area I would take his perms to spawn props. That might be Super Admin perms tho, but if I am able to do that I would for the moment. 6 ) Somebody does not agree with the outcome of an RP situation therefore he decides to break RP and act OOC: I think there is many ways of doing that so it could be for example that the other people in the RP situation actually did something wrong so he breaks RP by making a claim. Obviously I would help then and try to get what's going on the get the players know what maybe happened wrong or what they misunderstood. I everything happened properly and he just doesn't like it I would tell him that this is how the server works so he must agree with it when playing on the server. 7 ) You bring a player into a sit and punish him however he does not agree with your decision and keeps arguing: When I am very sure that I followed the punishment rules correctly I will just tell him he did something wrong therefor he/she gets punished for it. If I think I could have done maybe something a little bit wrong I would ask for another admin to come, preferably an admin with a higher rank then myself. 8 ) Someone commits FailRP but claims the specific instance of FailRP you warned him for is not explained in detail within the rules: I think this really depends on what he did. If it is clearly something that you would never do I would give him a punishment. If it is something else I would give him like a verbal warning and tell him if he does it again he will get a punishment. Also it depends on how critical the FailRP action was. 9 ) A player evidently breaks a rule however he makes a good point in his defense by abusing loopholes within the rules: How it already says the players is abusing loopholes which is not allowed at all. If it's just a minor thing I would maybe handle the situation like at the question before, that I would give a verbal warning but if he is really annoying with it or it is just something that after common sense would be not allowed I would hand out punishment. Answer the following questions in detail: 1 ) Explain the difference between Tier I rule-breaking and punishments and Tier II rule-breaking and punishments: First there is different actions someone gets punished in Tier I or Tier II for example if it was a misunderstanding or its a new player he/she gets a Tier I, if it was intentional rule breaking its a Tier II, same if the person already got warned for the mistakes and if he/she has no understanding for the rules at all. Second people get different punishments for getting Tier I and Tier II warns. So different Tiers can decide if someone is getting warned, banned and how long banned for his/her actions. 2 ) Explain the difference between IC and OOC. Also define Meta Gaming in relation with the two: The difference between IC and OOC is that IC is everything RP so you only talk about stuff your character know. OOC you can know about other factions and stuff and there is also the ooc chat in-game where you can type about stuff your character can't know about and kinda about everything else as well. Metagaming then would be taking information you got from OOC into your character so for example someone you are hunting but you have no idea where he is asks in ooc chat something about his location and then you directly move there to get him would be Metagaming because IC you cannot know about it at this point. 3 ) Explain the difference between Serious RP and Semi-Serious RP: The difference between Serious RP and Semi-Serious RP is that in Serious RP someone acts realistic and Semi-Serious would be just ignoring like Character building and just focusing on the job. Overall Semi-Serious RP is something kinda critical since players can't always act like they would do in real life so they have to improvise or there must be clear rules by the server for example for FearRP so that Semi-Serious RP can be avoided. 4 ) Explain the difference between PassiveRP and CombatRP, explain your view on their importance in our gamemode: The difference between PassiveRP and CombatRP is that at CombatRP everyone can actually see what is happening, for example someone is shooting someone else. PassiveRP would be things like /me actions that you do as your character for example washes hands. 5 ) Define the term of Combat Baiting: It kinda explains what it is by the name but Combat Baiting is when someone does a kinda FailRP action just to force someone else into Combat. This is mainly done by minge players when they just want to get some combat or a reason to kill the others when the others start confronting the person IC. 6 ) Define Power Gaming / Power RP: Power Gaming is when someone is doing a move that he could really do but he just for example types it in /me so he would kinda forces it to happen. An example would be if someone just types in /me punches person unconsciousness he/she would force the other person to act unconsciousness which you can't just do. Similar actions are /me steals all weapons/money or stuff like that. Breaking PowerRP may also be warned, at least verbally depending on how critical it was for the situation. 7 ) Define the term FailRP: There is a lot of things that can be FailRP but overall you can say that everything is FailRP what your character would not do. So it could be doing something like stealing a car even though your character can't even drive. Also something which is connected with that but kinda the most reason for people getting warned for FailRP is doing not lore-friendly actions. 8 ) Define the term FearRP: FearRP is if for example you are under gunpoint you have to kinda be feared so you can't just take out a weapon and shoot the people if you are a civilian for example. It kinda slides under the category FailRP but it's something that especially minge players break. When breaking it the person doing it usually also gets a warn. Explain in length and detail as to why you deserve staff more than other applicants. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member: First I want to say that I don't think that I deserve staff more than other applicants but that due to my assets I would fit as a staff member. My strongest asset, in my believe, is that I am a fast learner, for example I started playing GMod in December last year but I can already use all tools very good and precise so that people say that I am a very good builder, which I an very proud of. This asset would also help me with getting back and more into Half Life Lore, because I played Half Life 2 and recently Alyx but I never went deep into lore and hardly remember stuff from playing it. This might be the biggest issue with me becoming a staff member but as I said I think I can learn it very fast and for the beginning of the server I don't think knowledge about the lore is a very important aspect for a staff member. Another strong asset I have is that if rules are clearly stated I Can follow then very well and See if other are doing that as well. So in case of handing out punishments as a staff member I would always know what to do since the rules and punishments are expected like they are on NRP right now and these are very clear in my opinion. Something that maybe could make me different from the other applicants is that I made some mistakes and got into for myself at least critical situations in the WG community, which I definitely earned from. If what happened there is important I can also say more about this if it is important. But why I bring this up here is because I got this experience by learning from my mistakes and I usually don't get a second chance at things like this but right now I think there might be one so I am trying my best to take it. A last strong asset of myself is that when I enjoy things a lot I am very dedicated towards then which I an trying to show by on SWRP for example I was between January and May one of the most active if not the most active Player because I really wanted to achieve something, which I step by step did but in the end got blocked by my mistakes I made beforehand, which I also kinda found out or realised to late. Overall I really want to take this second chance and I want help the community again while having a lot of fun and dedicating a lot to it.
