(Type utime_enable 1 if you can not see it on your screen): N/A State the role of staff on the server: Staff members are there to punish rulebreakers accordingly and generally help players out with any questions or problems. Give some context about setting of C24 within the Half Life universe (150 words+): C24 also known as City 24 or The Royal City, is mainly known for its tall and large buildings, which are used for military garrison or apartments. It’s located in Geneva, Switzerland and connected to the well-known City 17 by train. The city itself is heavily patrolled by the combine, similar to most of the cities after the 7 hour war. It’s nickname may be “The Royal City” and some of it may be nice and polished. But it’s not as good as it sounds, old buildings and ruins are mostly inhabited by Resistance members and the occasional headcrab. There is also a lot propaganda spread around the city, including distinctive red banners very similar to Nazi Germany. The Universal Union hopes to control the inhabitants of city 24 with the use of propaganda, the combine and the civil protection, the Civil Protection are also known as the metro cops. Have you read the server rules and are you familiar with them? N/A Have you read the punishment list and are familiar with it?: N/A List of all previous server staff experience: I used to be staff on WG Star Wars RP making my way up to Head-Admin, I’ve also been Event Manager on SWRP and Security Staff on multiple WG servers. List of all previous RP experience: WG SWRP: Head of Batallion, 501st CO, 433rd CO, Jedi Battlemaster and more that I cannot remember. I’ve also played WG 1943 NRP, Military RP, WG Dark RP and WG Vietnam RP and some other SWRP servers before joining WG. Have you added the Manager on Steam? If not, add him (http://steamcommunity.com/id/RUN_YOU_FOOL) Request sent. Have you added the Vice-Manager on Steam? If not, add him (https://steamcommunity.com/id/thatgardentool/) Request sent. Have you added the Staff Manager on Steam? If not, add him (https://steamcommunity.com/id/UNJoe/) Request sent. Do you understand that you can be demoted at anytime with a sufficient reason by a Hierarchy member?: Yes Explain how you would handle these scenarios as a staff member: I did not give any exact answer to how I would punish the player (warns, kicks, bans), because the punishment list is not out yet. 1 ) You are told by a player in admin chat that another player is randomly killing people: I would take the player that reported the killer aside to an area where I will not interfere with any ongoing RP and ask him for his story and evidence. After that I will check logs and talk to the killer himself allowing him to explain himself and punish him accordingly. 2 ) You are asked by a player about how to join a faction: I’ll explain what the faction they wish to join does and tell them to either look on the discord or forums to apply. 3 ) You catch somebody not performing RP and messing around: I would take them aside, explain what he/she is doing wrong and depending on the severity and playtime of someone punish them accordingly. (Most likely verbal warning at first) 4 ) Somebody acquires a rank but is not willing to RP with it properly: Depending on what rank / faction this player is I would either do the same as the question above or contact their superiors personally and tell them what has happened so they can give the IC punishment. If this is not possible I would temporarily strip them of their rank IF this is within my power. 5 ) A player is prop spamming: Personally I would go to the person myself to check the situation, warn/kick them if it’s not that serious and ban them if they’re trying to crash the server. Again though, the punishment list is not out yet so this is not a definitive answer. 6 ) Somebody does not agree with the outcome of an RP situation therefore he decides to break RP and act OOC: I would tell them to keep RPing and solve this situation in OOC/LOOC chat, teamspeak or discord later. If they do not listen I would again punish them as the punishment list would describe. Which will most likely be a FailRP warn. 7 ) You bring a player into a sit and punish him however he does not agree with your decision and keeps arguing: I would try to explain my reason once again, if they keep arguing I would ask a higher ranking staff member to help me. If they still don’t listen I would recommend them to go to the forums and make an unwarn request. 8 ) Someone commits FailRP but claims the specific instance of FailRP you warned him for is not explained in detail within the rules: I would again request a higher ranking staff member to help me out or suggest the player to make an unwarn request. 9 ) A player evidently breaks a rule however he makes a good point in his defence by abusing loopholes within the rules: I would give him a verbal warning and report this to the Server Management Team. Answer the following questions in detail: 1 ) Explain the difference between Tier I rule-breaking and punishments and Tier II rule-breaking and punishments: Tier 1: Unintentional rule breaking / not knowing you were breaking the rules. Tier 2: Intentional rule breaking / knowing it’s not allowed but still doing it. 2 ) Explain the difference between IC and OOC. Also define Meta Gaming in relation with the two: IC (In character): Everything your character you are roleplaying as knows. OOC (Out of character): Refers to things you do/say outside of RP. Meta Gaming: Using out of character information to gain an in character advantage. 3 ) Explain the difference between Serious RP and Semi-Serious RP: Serious RP is more strict which means you can only act how your character would live its daily life. Semi-Serious RP is more focused on incorporating OOC things in your character. 4 ) Explain the difference between PassiveRP and CombatRP, explain your view on their importance in our gamemode: PassiveRP: Is mostly done in a peaceful environment where one could enhance their skills by training or get more knowledge by performing experiments and such. CombatRP: Is done in a hostile environment where you actively participate in combat. 5 ) Define the term of Combat Baiting: Trying to initiate combat without having a proper reason to do so, for example walking around with your weapon in front the metro cops without having a reason to do so. 6 ) Define Power Gaming / Power RP: Using a RP action to get an advantage in certain situation. For example, a player is cuffed by CP but he types “/me breaks free from cuffs” without actually doing so IG. 7 ) Define the term FailRP: FailRP is doing something that does not fit or cannot be done within your characters roleplay, such as using a lightsaber on HL-RP or NRP. 8 ) Define the term FearRP: FearRP basically means the fear to die in a RP situation. An example of breaking FearRP is running away when there is a gun pointed at you. Explain in length and detail as to why you deserve staff more than other applicants. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member (250+ words): After taking quite a long break from Garry’s mod to put more time in to school and social activities, my interest in it has fully returned and I’m ready to put time in it once again. I’m excited to see a new roleplay server coming out soon and want to help where I can. The first reason would be my staffing experience within the community, I used to be staff on the Star Wars roleplay server for longer than a year without leaving. In that time I gained experience in creating and doing events when I was the Event-Manager and leading the staff team when I was Head-Admin. When I was EM I bumped up the consistency in events, revived the lore storyline events and also did the first Order 66 event on the server. Of-course I did not do this alone and got great help from the event team at the time. I personally don’t know how events go on a HL-RP server but I would like to help out if I can. The second reason would be my general experience within the community. Back in 2017 is when I first joined the community. Since then I have been playing mostly Star Wars RP and occasionally playing on the other RP servers. On Star Wars I’ve been in multiple leading positions, including battalion, regiments and jedi. Currently I’m only 50 hours shy of hitting 2000 hours on Garry’s Mod. Overall I like helping players out and giving them a fun time on the server and I’m not afraid of making changes and suggesting new ideas. ----------------------------------------------------- Requirements: - You must be 15 years in age or older. - You must be able to speak and type English fluently, quickly and correctly. - You must have at least four (4) days of play time. - You must have 10 or fewer warns. - You must not be banned when you apply. - You must not advertise your application in any way. - You must not copy anything from other applications. - You may not edit your application without permission from a Hierarchy member. - You may not copy-paste parts from a previous application that you have filed. - Only reply to your application if you need to specify something.
