SS-Ahnenerbe Grossdeutschland Bruno Kompanie Enlisted SA-Standarte Rottenfuhrer NSDAP-Gaugericht Stellenleiter NSDAP-Gaustabsamt Stellenleiter NSDAP-Technik Hilfsstellenleiter NSDAP-Gaupropagandaamt Hilfsstellenleiter Reichsjustizministerium Amtrat/Richter des Landgericht --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Staff scenarios: 1) You are told by a player in admin chat that another player is randomly killing people: First I would pull the accuser into a sit and confirm the name of the player suspected of RDM’ing, and before bringing the accused player in question, I would obtain and review any recorded evidence of the accused RDM’ing as described. Should the evidence be sound and the accused player be caught out by such evidence, they would receive a Tier I warn for RDM and be kicked 2) You are asked by a player about how to join a faction: I would direct the player to the appropriate recruiter for various factions, depending on the faction. Should the faction they inquire about require some sort of condition before being recruited (be it service in another faction first or purchasing an OOC rank on the server), I would explain the conditions required for joining such a faction before offering to inform them about any information required to achieve said conditions. 3) You catch somebody not performing RP and messing around: I will pull them aside and remind them that if they do not intend to RP on the server, that they can be banned should they continue to not Roleplay. Should they continue to do so after pulling them aside, I will pull them into a sit, and give out the necessary punishment for NITRP 4) Somebody acquires a rank but is not willing to RP with it properly: Should they refuse to RP properly after being pulled into a sit and having the punishment for such a rule breakage be relayed, their superiors will be informed, and the decision to demote them will be offered, after which, regardless of whether it was accepted or not, would see the offender receive the appropriate punishment. 5) A player is prop spamming: They will receive an immediate permanent ban, after the various props are removed and the offender is pulled into a sit away from other players in order to minimise risk of further problems --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rule knowledge: 1) Explain the difference between Tier I rule-breaking and punishments and Tier II rule-breaking and punishments: Tier I rule-breaking is a situation in which the offending player can be given some benefit of the doubt, but not enough to warrant only a verbal warning and no actual punishment, such as the incident being an accident, or the offending player being new to the server and not understanding all of the rules. As such, Tier I punishments are considerably lighter than Tier II punishment, seeing a majority only recieving warns, with only a few cases of a long ban period. Tier II rule-breaking is when the person in question is completely aware of what they are doing and the situation has no pretense of being unintentional, such as no knowledge of any of the server rules or breaking the rules on purpose. As such, Tier II punishments are much more severe in order to deter players from doing the same, such as multiple day bans for even the smallest of infractions 2) Explain the difference between IC and OOC. Also define Meta Gaming: IC (In Character) is the term used to describe a situation in-game where characters portrayed by the players are present and acting in a manner which would create a sense of immersion and realism, in order to improve the RP (Roleplaying) experience for all players involved. Bringing OOC (Out Of Character) aspects of gameplay or other OOC things into the game would be ruining other players RP experience and would be considered Meta Gaming. OOC (Out Of Character) is the term used to describe anything outside of the purview of the immediate Roleplaying situation that would not affect the immersion of the RP experience should it not be forced into the RP situation in-game, including instances of IRL (In Real Life) interruptions to gameplay and RP, or having to go AFK (Away From Keyboard), which in the case of the gameplay, cannot be helped and are a commonly accepted breaking of the Roleplay immersion. Meta Gaming, as stated before, is a situation in which OOC aspects of the game or otherwise unrelated to the RP experience as a whole are used within the IC RP instance of gameplay, thereby ruining the immersion of players. Furthermore, it is also considered Meta Gaming that IC information shared in an OOC fashion (and thus no one should know it IC) is used to influence the flow of gameplay, thereby compromising the immersion of the RP experience and giving unfair advantages to one/some players over others 3) Explain the difference between Serious RP and Semi-Serious RP: Serious RP can be defined as a sub-section of the Roleplay gamemode, whereby all in-game actions are taken seriously and every aspect of gameplay within the server has a lasting impact on characters, in-game narratives and the universe of the server’s setting. As such, non-RP situations or bringing OOC aspects into the game in any way is generally not allowed as a way of maintaining immersion within the Roleplay setting. Semi-Serious RP is when such things can happen within the space of the game and can still have lasting impacts within the setting of the Roleplay universe, but the atmosphere provides a generally more relaxed feel and OOC aspects are mostly not considered too damaging to the Roleplay experience, thereby enhancing the relaxed atmosphere 4) Define PassiveRP and explain its role and importance in a serious RP gamemode: PassiveRP is defined as an aspect of RP where the seriousness of all involved is paramount to maintaining immersion in the Roleplaying universe, wherein events with lasting impacts could take place and shape future events and foreshadow other consequences from the outcome of the PassiveRP. It is generally segmented away from other aspects of RP, meaning RP involving combat or other less serious elements would likely not be included. PassiveRP events are in general used to tell stories and establish narratives within the universe of the Roleplaying server, and as such, within a Serious RP gamemode/environment, they are paramount for maintaining a cohesive and understandable story within the framework of the server’s in-game universe. 5) Define the term of Combat Baiting: Combat Baiting is when a player intentionally does something towards another player or acts in a way to illicit a response from the player they’re directing this at, in order to create an environment whereby the other player would be lured into a situation purposefully designed to get them killed or put them in a combat situation with overwhelming odds against them, usually employing tactics that would force the other player into an isolated environment, away from other players who could support the victim, where it is almost guaranteed that any combat situation or ambush situation they would get involved in would result in death/kidnapping by the offending individual in question. 6) Define Power Gaming: Power Gaming is an action within an RP scenario (mostly relegated to combat scenarios, but PassiveRP is by no means immune to this issue), whereby a player is forcefully pushing a scenario or action on another player, when taken into consideration in the Roleplay universe, would be considered unrealistic and/or designed to purposefully put a specific player in a position of power over another where that wouldn't normally be feasible. In combat scenarios, this can usually be seen as players purposefully overpowering other players or exploiting a lack of proper game mechanics to avoid scenarios that would otherwise happen in Roleplay or force a particular scenario on another player which wouldn't have otherwise happened. In PassiveRP, this can be seen as once again, forcing players into 7) State the role of staff on the server: Members of the Server Staff team are most importantly on the server to administrate the playerbase of the server to ensure that, first and foremost, the rules of the server are being followed, entrusted with the power to enforce the rules of the server and accordingly punish players on the server, whilst keeping the overall experience of the server and its Roleplay environment enjoyable and welcoming to all who join the server. As well as this, members of staff within the upper echelons of the Staff Team, most notably the Server Management Team (SMT) are responsible for overseeing the Server Staff team and managing the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the server and any attached aspects, such as recruiting staff, managing and adjudicating on the forums, managing and dealing with complaints from players and staff alike etc. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lore Questions: 1) Give some context about the HL universe (75 words+): The Half-Life universe starts in the year 200-, following Dr. Gordon Freeman in his employment at the Black Mesa Facility. During an experiment, the researchers at the Facility end up causing a Resonance Cascade with opens a portal to the borderworld, Xen. This accident causes creatures from Xen to overrun the facility and kill most of the researchers there, except for Freeman who had managed to escape and then accepted an offer from The G-Man for a job, with Freeman then being put into stasis for 20 years. After the Resonance Cascade Incident at the Black Mesa Facility, the portal being opened to Xen allows for the Combine Empire, a totalitarian intergalactic hegemony to quickly conquer the Earth after a war against its combined nations that lasted a mere 7 hours. After which, Dr. Wallace Breen, the former administrator of Black Mesa was appointed as the Administrator of a Combined-occupied Earth. The Combine themselves were quick to begin oppressing the human population and plundering the world for its resources, namely shipping water off-world, extremely heavy industry that pump toxic pollutants into the environment making parts completely barren of life, and segregating the human population into a handful of cities, closely watched over by humans who allied with the Combine and became known as Civil Protection. 2) Give some context about setting of C24 ( 50 words+ ) City 24, located in what was Geneva, Switzerland, and is often nicknamed 'The Royal City' is seen as quite a modest city in terms of size and population, with the population largely seeing themselves as more privileged and has helped to develop a more elitist mentality among the citizenry loyal to the Combine. Much of the city's old infrastructure was either destroyed by the combine or left to fall into disrepair to then end up being used by resistance and, at times, overrun by Headcrabs. Skyscrapers, about half the size of the Citadel dominate the skyline and are used as aparments and military garrisons by the Combine and their loyalists, with Combine activity remaining frequent and heavily oppressive towards the population. 3) What is the CWU? The Civil Workers Union (CWU) is the main workforce element of the Combine-occupational authority on Earth, the Universal Union. This Union is used as an apparatus in order to keep the citizen under the rule of the Combine serving their interests by working in separate fields of 'employment', as determined by Combine Overseers. The Union is split up into several sub-sections for different specialised trades, mainly including the Civil Medical Union (CMW) who specialised in healthcare and medical work, the Civil Industrial Union (CIW) consisting of labour-intensive, lower-end manufacturing or factory work, and the Civil Commerical Union (CCW), comprising mostly of commerical workers, business owners and service providers, such as resturaunt owners and general store clerks. There is also the Civil Financial Union (CFW) who centre around the financial aspects of work, including setting up businesses, inspecting workers and businesses, as well as the other sections of the CWU. 4) What is the Universal Union:? The Universal Union (UU) is another term used to describe and often try to downplay the oppressive totalitarian occupational authorities of the Combine on Earth. The administration of the Union is mostly made up of human Administrators appointed by the Combine to oversee their designated city, with most being only puppets to the Combine themselves. The arm enforcing the will of the Union, known as Overwatch, is split up into two main groups, with Civil Protection (CPs) acting as the main policing force to maintain Law and Order in a city, and the Overwatch Transhuman Arm (OTA), the main military arm of the Union. 5) What is the civil protection? Civil Protection (CPs) are a paramilitary policing group and a section of the Overwatch arm of the Universal Union. They are mainly responsible for keeping Law and Order within an area of administration, often being recruited from Earth's native population, either by force or through willing recruits in exchange for a more comfortable life. This 6) What is the overwatch transhuman arm? The Overwatch Transhuman Arm (OTA), colloquially called Combine Soldiers are the main military force of the Combine. Infrequently seen within city limits, these transhuman infantry units are well-armed and armoured, and are mentally conditioned to be coldly efficient, remorseless killing machines, being deployed sparingly in combat situations and kept in stasis when not being deployed. This arm of Overwatch is split up into different specialized units known as detachments. ECHO comprises of standard OTA troops with standard-issue OTA equipment and wepons with their squad leaders being known as KINGs, MACE are heavily armed and armoured frontline juggernauts, ANVIL specialise in heavy weaponry such as machine guns, HURRICANE/AIRWATCH who are the pilots of the Combine's aerial gunships, RANGERs are long-range combatants trained in sharpshooting, GHOST units are masters of assassinations and stealth operations, X-RAY comprise mostly of frontline medical personnel and SENTINEL are the Elite task force of the OTA charged with guarding key officials in the Union Administration. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Have you added the Manager on Steam & Discord? If not, add him: Yes Have you added the Vice-Manager on Steam & Discord? If not, add him: No, but I intend to Have you added the Staff Manager on Steam & Discord? If not, add him: Yes Do you understand that you can be demoted at any time by a SMT member? Yes Explain in length and detail as to why you deserve staff more than other applicants. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member (200+ words): From my nearly 2 years cumulative experience within the community, hop-scotching between NRP, IRP and CWRP, I can truly say for certain that I love this community and all that it offers in terms of replayability, Roleplay investment and genuine enjoyment that I have garnered from the servers that are on offer to the player base at large. That level of not only customer engagement, but the best kind of fan service for players from all walks of life and dedication to the server truly makes a difference in how one views a gaming community that they are part of, and knowing that I am part of a community that brings out these feeling of love, trust, dedication and belonging, as well as uncovering a deep-seeded passion for Roleplay and Roleplaying games that I would've never discovered had I not been welcomed so openly and convinced to stay and come back so completely by the truly excellent community that has grown thanks to these servers and the staff that run them; so much so that I want to be part of that. Not only because of the vibrant and vast community of friends that I have made during my time in the community, but being able to contribute in a way that would foster this love and dedication to the community that was fostered in me. I believe I can bring a sense of objectiveness, impartiality and dedication to not only enforcing the rules of the community, but helping to foster a meaningful and trusting relationship with players in order to not only help them have an enjoyable time on the server, but keep them coming back and to dedicate in the same way that I did when I was first exposed to the community as a kid in school. And now, five years later I want to bring that same dedication to a position on the Server Staff team.
