The role of a staff member is to ensure the order in the server by applying the right punishments in every situation, helping players with their questions (like what a job does), being great examples for newbies and veteran players, be respectful to all players, and monitor the behaviour of the server's players. Every player matters, not just the VIP ones.

Give some context about setting of C24 within the Half Life universe (150 words+):

City 24, or "The royal city", is one of the 186 major cities built by the UU. It is a modest city located in Geneva, Switzerland. It has got tall and large skyscrapers, mostly CP stations for the combine patrols or apartments, each one half of the Citadel's size. It has apparently a strong harsh dictatorship used around the city, clear signs of nazi Germany and North Korea. The old and ruined buildings of the city are inhabited by resistance members and other monstrosities, like headcrabs. Loyal members are granted "privileges"(from here the nickname, which normal citizens don't have. It was one of the first cities built after the "7 hours war", combine patrols are very frequent, almost full-time. Up-front the city resembles whispers of the old world via its fake posture of prestige and comfort, later revealed to be just a lie. The streets' buildings and the roads seem well-kept and they are relatively clean.

Explain how you would handle these scenarios as a staff member:

1 ) You are told by a player in admin chat that another player is randomly killing people:

I would bring the person that reported the rdmer and the reported. Then I would open the logs and find any useful information, and then I would bring him and ask why he has done that. If he denies it, I would ask the reporter if he has got any proof(recordings, screenshots). If he has got valuable proof, I would proceed to punish him as the server's punishment list says. In case the reporter hasn't got any evidence, I would apologize to him and say that I can't do much without proof, then I would return them both.

2 ) You are asked by a player about how to join a faction:

I would explain him, obviously OOC, what factions are currently on the server, what is their role into the server, and how to join them with different methods. And if he answers that he would like to join a certain faction, then I would proceed to explain in full detail what that faction does, where to find the recruitment points into the city, and maybe some tips. Obviously, all of this will be told if he actually permits me.

3 ) You catch somebody not performing RP and messing around:

I would bring him to a non-rp zone, so He won't ruin the RP to other players anymore, in case he tries to run away, I would freeze or jail him so he won't run away, then I would tell him that this server is Serious-RP server, so minging isn't allowed in any case, and if he keeps doing that I would be forced to punish him. In case there aren't more reports, I would cloak and start to spectate him(or use the !spectate command), and see if he is actually doing RP. If I see him messing up again or getting reported again, I would be forced to punish him.

4 ) Somebody acquires a rank but is not willing to RP with it properly:

If I see him or if he gets reported, I would bring him on a rooftop or in another non-rp place. Then I would proceed to bring the reporter, and ask for any pieces of evidence (recordings,screenshots,witnesses...). If I see him or the reporter has got valid proof, I would proceed, for the OOC part, to ask him why he isn't rping properly. Then I would proceed to punish him(depending on the situation), then for the IC part, I would ask the faction leader what would be his IC punishment.

5 ) A player is prop spamming:

If I got enough proof of prop spamming (logs, witnesses), I would proceed to perma ban him, or in case I can't, I would ban him for the highest length I can, and then I would ask a higher-up to perma ban him. As this is a serious server, prop spamming isn't allowed and must be punished with the highest punishment.

6 ) Somebody does not agree with the outcome of an RP situation therefore he decides to break RP and act OOC:

I would bring the reporter and the reported to a rooftop or to another non-rp place, then I would ask for proof (I would check logs, ask for records, screenshots, witnesses). If there is enough valid proof, I would proceed to punish him as the server punishments' list says.

7 ) You bring a player into a sit and punish him however he does not agree with your decision and keeps arguing:

I would explain to him why I warned him, and if he still doesn't agree, I would say that he can go on the forums, and make an un-warn or an un-ban appeal on the specific category. After that, I would provide him with the forum's link, and obviously, I would punish him for what he has done.

8 ) Someone commits FailRP but claims the specific instance of FailRP you warned him for is not explained in detail within the rules:

I would tell him that not everything is written, and sometimes you need to use your common sense. However, if he still doesn't agree, I would tell him to go onto the forums and make an un-warn appeal, and figure it out.

9 ) A player evidently breaks a rule however he makes a good point in his defence by abusing loopholes within the rules:

If he actually makes a good point and actually didn't break a rule, I would proceed to just give him a verbal warning and after that, I would contact one of my higher ups and tell him if he can fix this loophole.

Answer the following questions in detail:

1 ) Explain the difference between Tier I rule-breaking and punishments and Tier II rule-breaking and punishments:

-Tier I : It's an action that wasn't done on purpose, or maybe when the player hasn’t read the rule yet. An example is shooting someone by mistake

-Tier II : It's an action that was done on purpose, when the player knows what he is going against, like killing someone that you don't like.

2 ) Explain the difference between IC and OOC. Also define Meta Gaming in relation with the two:

The difference between IC(In-Character) and OOC(Out Of Character) is simple. IC means and refers to In-Character, so everything that your character has experienced during his life: Relationships, past duties, past experiences...

OOC means and refers Out Of Character, so what the player knows out of the RP. Examples are: Looked and learned past facts from the forums, learned about the information on Discord, TS, Steam... So, in short, what your character learned outside the game.

Metagaming in relation with the two is basically using OOC information IC without actually knowing them IC. Like if a lambda writes in OOC: “We are gonna do an attack soon”, and someone actually goes to tell that an attack is going to happen.

3 ) Explain the difference between Serious RP and Semi-Serious RP:

The differences between Serious RP and Semi-Serious are quite big. In a Serious RP you have to immerse yourself in the character and be always serious. Another thing is that Serious RP focuses on making you develop your character by making IC relationships, progressing your character, trying new experiences. You don’t have to just play the character, but become it.

Instead, Semi-Serious RP is like DarkRP, like talking in VC, using the F4 menu for jobs, troll around and don’t take the RP seriously. So It doesn't focus on the seriousness, but on the fun instead.

4 ) Explain the difference between PassiveRP and CombatRP, explain your view on their importance in our gamemode:

Passive RP: A RP which isn't revolved around combat, but more on developing your character. An example is playing as CWU and working in a building, being a shopkeeper... It is done by using the command /me, and it's very important in all serious RP servers, without it the Serious RP would lose a bit of his fun in my opinion.

Combat RP: An RP which revolves around the combat, and more around your shooting skills. An example could be a fight between a Citizen and another Citizen, or a lambda assault.

I think that Passive RP and Combat RP are very important and funny in a  Serious RP server.

5 ) Define the term of Combat Baiting:

Combat baiting is when someone does an action or more actions to start a combat, an example is when a citizen yells that he is a resistance member and start shooting at the CPs.

6 ) Define Power Gaming / Power RP:

Power Gaming is when you force with the /me command an action on a person, and know that you are gonna win anyway. An example is; "/me knocks out the CP and steal his gun"

7 ) Define the term FailRP:

FailRP is when a player fails to roleplay and maybe do a thing that in real life he couldn't, an example is while cuffed to interact with a keypad.

8 ) Define the term FearRP:

FearRP is when a person is afraid to die, and in real life, he wouldn't risk his own life. A common example is being under gun point and taking your gun out and shoot anyways.

Explain in length and detail as to why you deserve staff more than other applicants. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member (250+ words):

I think I deserve the staff role more than other applicants because I have got a lot of experience, I have got around 5k hours on gmod, and had some past staff experiences. Another good thing about me is that I am very active, and when I have a duty I always work hard for it and never give up. I learn very well from my mistakes, so if someone says that I have done a mistake, I won't just ignore him, but learn from his suggestion and thank him. I am also hard-working and dedicated, so If I have a duty I will complete it to the end, and try my best to complete it. As I said before, I'll be active as much as I can to help the server out, due to COVID-19 I'll have plenty of time to play. I have got a lot of experience on HL2RP, most on Serious RPs, but on semi-serious too. I have started playing on WG from 2018, on Jailbreak, and from then I loved this community, but I also moved around and played the other servers, so that gave me a lot of experience on serious RP. I tried to apply for CP, but unfortunately, the applications were closed, and now I am trying to apply for staff, so I think this shows my dedication to this server. If I get the chance, I'll try my best to help and improve the server with everything I can. This is why I believe I could be given a chance

Regards

Unusual since the rules haven't been posted yet; same can be said for the punishment list.

- Acceptable answers to the staffing scenarios

- Went through the effort of applying again after being denied so the dedication is sorta there
