  1. Lorex was accepted; just putting it here if no one gets the message. -7
  2. in the words of walter alvarez: "o5'7" +1. Good guy. The role is simple, and he explains it in detail.
  3. Horrible role player and bad Research Director. +1 I’m confident you’ll bring unique and interesting RP to the table! Good luck.

  5. OOC/Basic Information Your in-Game Name: Carson Smith / Lord Samuel Alexander Craig / Agent Blacksmith Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:43258039 Your Age: 20 Your In-Game Playtime: 02w 4d 03h Your Warns: 0 Rate Your RP Skills: 8/10 What O5 Designation would you prefer (1-12) and what character?: O5-4 "The Ambassador" would be my preferred designation and name. Otherwise, any open slot. How do you initiate a lockdown/unlockdown?: /lockdown to initiate, /unlockdown to do the opposite! How do you Initiate a nuke?: Call an Admin+ with good reason! Good reason would be, for example, if there is a mass outbreak of 008 II on the surface alongside, say for example, additional SCP's that would require extensive resources to recapture and/or terminate without harming civilian and/or Foundation personnel. Have you read and understand the rules of SCP-RP?: Yep! Why do you believe you should be part of the O5 Council and what can you bring to the role e.g (Pressure in extreme situations, making the tough decisions): I believe I possess the qualities needed to make a competent O5 council member, such as quick, on the spot decision making in tough situations. An example of this could be an intense verbal conflict between the GOC and the Foundation over a potentially dangerous object in which the GOC wishes to destroy it whereas our goals are to study and contain it. Allowing for diplomat of sorts between the two parties would ease tensions, allow for easier communication between the organisations as well as a result that benefits both parties peacefully and without difficulties. I have experience as a member aboard the Ethics Committee & as Head of External Affairs to back these claims up. The Ethics department concerns itself with the proper management of resources, human and otherwise, as long as they belong to the foundation, whereas the External Affairs department deals with interactions between GOI's, civilians, anomalies and the enactment of Protocol 12. As such, it's more often than not that I often speak to people performing a variety of duties, regardless of if they are an MTF, Security, Researcher, etc. I am a conversationalist. Having these roles means that I should be able to make the 'tough decision', even if it may not be the right one. I follow a policy when it comes to making certain, difficult decisions: "Make a decision, even if it's not the right one. It's better than not making one at all." It conditions the mind to learn from past mistakes to mitigate any mistakes in the future. After-all, you can only learn if you make mistakes. These tough decisions includes the demotion of personnel as ECM for breaching security protocol or wasting resources, or simply punishment. Additionally, as a member of the Ethics Committee, I often have O-1, Law's Left Hand to assist me in any dealings that I require or at least bring attention to them something that concerns them. Micromanaging MTF forces that are relevant to the situation is something that I enjoy and I believe I am fairly decent at doing. This should be a necessary quality for a competent leader. Overall, I possess these qualities: - Decision Making - Negotiation - Micromanaging resources / MTF - Experience with HOEA & Ethics - Patience I would also like to note that i'm often seen playing as either ECM, TSH or site Admin and have since increased (I think? lol), my activity on the server! Can you explain what an O5 does for the foundation and the site itself and why he himself differs from any other site Adminstration?: An Understanding of Site Administration: Site Administration consists of individuals such as the Ethics Committee, Directors, Advisers and the Head of External Affairs, etc. Each of these individuals performs tasks surrounding their own capabilities as competent members of the SCP foundation per-site. The Director manages the site, MTF, researchers and allocates tasks to his advisers, which in turn communicate towards the lower echelons of the hierarchy and report back as needed. The Ethics Committee concerns itself with resource management and the law, whereas the External Affairs department indulges itself with external activities such as GOI's, conversion of GOI members, interactions with civilians, disinformation and protocol 12. All members of Site Administration carry out their jobs. Nothing more. An Understanding of an O5 The O5 oversees all of these activities from his seat on the council. Perhaps he or she is assigned a department to oversee. Sometimes they'll visit the site as an envoy for said department under an alias along with an armed escort of A1 Agents. Regardless of what they do, each O5 has a particular skillset which makes him far more valuable and intellectually competent than your average Administration member. Anything that occurs within the site and all other sites is known towards the O5 council and each member performs far beyond the capabilities of the lower echelons purely due to their skillset in whatever it is that they are proficient in. As the literal 'board of Directors' for the foundation, they've the ability to grant, authorise or otherwise deny anything that goes within the foundation for the greater good of the foundation, it's personnel and for the safety of those on the surface to continue the illusion of normalcy. With this importance, they often stay away from any anomalies at all times and generally tend to keep out of sight from other personnel due to the potentially hazardous knowledge that each member aboard the council contains. What is the O5 Council?: The O5 council consists of, officially, 12 individuals selected for their intellectual prowess or some other particularly outstanding trait via a majority vote of consensus from all other current members of the council. If this is not possible, it is said that the Administrator is able to assist in developing a new council. There is, however, an O5-13, which is simply a designation given to an existing member of the council to act as a means of making a decision in otherwise implausible situations where the council is unable to come to a conclusion concerning something important. This, however, is simply a theory. The O5 council acts as the literal executives towards the foundations and all of it's sites, able to pass laws, change policies and are able to do anything in their power to ensure the safety of humanity and those under their employment as long as anomalies are contained, studied and protected from humanity. To perform their task unhindered, it is said that some O5's have connections with official governments and the Global Occult Coalition in order to perform the Foundations activities unhindered. Explain what makes you special: I suppose something that makes me special is my willingness to speak to others as well as the ability to differentiate between roleplay and OOC contexts. Sometimes there might be a situation where someone could get mad over an IC situation (which is understandable), but at the same time it is a video game afterall. Knowing when to step back, take a breacher and get a snack or something is important in keeping a cool head in roleplay servers and the whatnot. What Departement would you like to focus on? (Research, Mobile Task Forces, Ethics,...): Ethics / Security

  7. Hello. Some criticism, if I may, concerning below: Why do you believe you should be part of the O5 Council and what can you bring to the role e.g (Pressure in extreme situations, making the tough decisions): I believe I should be part of the O5 council because I believe I have experiences in jobs since my last appointment as O5 in the SeriousRP sector, Chairman of the CAB and Director of the CMU in HL2RP servers. As O5, I obviously won't be doing the things that I did there, as I am not the group manager nor does a regular O5 do those things, but I think they have matured me and weaved me fit for this position. I have lore knowledge of the O5 council and the foundation in general. It's a snippet from your app. You answer the question. This is what is required. You do not, however, do anything more than that. There is nothing that individualises you from another player. I've highlighted a part of it. You claim to have experience in group management and all that. We ask you this; "So what?". It doesn't show us why you should be apart of the council. Perhaps some justification or expansion would do you well. It's like interviewing somebody with all the talents but no flair, if you get my gist I suppose. Good luck. For now, -1.

  9. Dear L.S.: I would say that I am surprised to receive the prestige of this very letter. Perhaps you already knew. Regardless, that does not matter at the moment. It is a pleasure to converse in this manner with yourself and if you're not a singular entity, my greetings. Not many take to sending physical copies via pen and paper to acquaintances anymore, do they? My official name [RP name] is...: Lord Samuel Alexander Craig, ruler of Craigsville, slayer of monsters and taker of souls. Fellow acquaintances and those with acceptable attention spans recall that I prefer to be called simply as, Sam. Excuse me; the crossed out title is simply self-given. It sounds egocentric, I know, but what's the harm it giving a little bit of fun in things, correct? But if you must know, I was once indeed elected leader of a rural village of peasants simply for, well, 'elevating their poor conditions', if you could call it that by blessing them with 'holy water'. Want to know the secret? Well, i'm going to tell you anyways; I threw a can of coke (the contents) at a degraded statue of a monster that the locals believed to be plaguing the land and for whatever reason, causing them all to fall miserably to the ground and prostate in front of said statue. After the rather embarrassing events of witnessing all of these locals bow before an inanimate object, I took it upon myself to see if I could snap them out of their simply idiotic mindset. Summed up, they handed me all of their worldly possessions!.. well, no, not really. I got to keep a shiny rock and a patchwork crown that doesn't even sit properly atop my head. Moving on. As for the monster slaying and taking of souls? I deserved it! I helped a mass of people in their times of need! My Online Identities [Steam Name & Discord Name] are...: Sir Rose & Carson Smith / Sir Rose#9820 My Library Card Signature [SteamID] is...: STEAM_0:0:43258039 The time I have spent inside of the Library [Playtime] is...: Two weeks, two days and three hours. -------------------- My intentions when I joined The Serpent's Hand was...: simply to join an entourage involved in the exploitation of those whom would shroud the world in the mundane. Once upon a time ago I was a conspiracy theorist working independently in the great country known as the United States of America. I did, though, stumble upon something that others would consider unnatural and no, it isn't the Dark Side bull crap that those Star Wars films make it out to be, but something that the shadowy organisations behind closed doors and high up in their government complexes call Anomalies! To describe said anomaly, it was a book that gave paper cuts. No, really. It gave paper cuts every time a page was opened and a word read aloud. Fearing for my life due to excessive blood loss, I dropped the book splattered with my blood, and here's the most interesting part; the words began moving. They popped out of the book and just started roaming around, leaving crimson red footsteps before reducing themselves to dust. So you see, I began thinking, and when I think, ideas begin to form. I did not believe for one second after that moment that this world was as it should; it was too mundane. You know those crappy ass alien pictures those other theorists procure? Those ones are fake. What I had was something concrete and real. I stored the book in my personal collection of oddities as one of what would be many, hoping to share what I had with the world so that we could co-exist with these anomalies. I knew I was ready to discover and share this knowledge among others things. I distrusted my colleagues, however. Friends, rather, in terms of waiting for the right moment to reveal the collection I had begun amassing to the world. To explain it further; I had hired workers via the stone I partly sold, (turns out it was some rare mineral of sorts. Who would've known!), search and excavate areas which detailed 'rare artifacts' from suburban areas with local folklore and the whatnot. The more I uncovered, the more wary I become of these anomalies. It made me mature; I began understanding as to why these organisations would rather keep them secret; the world was not ready for it. Yet. And so, I began my search for someone who would understand; someone who would finally be able to accept what I had to offer, my ideas, thoughts, my collection, with the world in a sense that made people come together, and not push them away from each other. I began uncovering secrets that would get me killed. Probably. Yes, killed is the right word; there was this Foundation that worked to hoard and shroud anomalies for their own use.. another which deemed them to dangerous and outright destroyed them. There was one that wished to rebuild a God from machine parts (as crazy as it sounded to me) and another that called themselves the Chaos Insurgency. I mean, what was with that, right? They literally call themselves 'Chaos!'. Anywho, revealing my knowledge to any of these individual organisations would probably mean the confiscation of my collection and my summary death. I knew to much, that was for sure; I was smart enough to know that. It was at this time that a singular name began flowing in the corners of my vision, just out of earshot, just within sight. The Serpent's Hand'. I seeked knowledge, protection, the freedom to do as I please (for the most part), and to have the world accept anomalies for what they were. I know a lot about The Serpent's Hand such as...: your fabled Wanderer's Library. Apologies, I meant the Serpent's Hand's, fabled Wanderer's Library; a place in which every book exists; books that would, have been, and never have been written. I am something of a bookworm myself, but this is something far beyond my understanding. Their formality is appreciated, as a Library is expected to be with the need of returning books undamaged and having the knowledge free for all those who express interest in it. Perhaps i'll be able to jot down the correct word without having to cross it out after a few hundred books or so. It is said that the Wanderer's Library is limitless and after the things that I have seen and the oddities that I had collected, I am somewhat inclined to agree with that thought. Aside from that, it is mentioned in most scriptures of the Library that there are access points to other 'worlds', as they call it via a method of travel called a 'Way', a door, if you will. An extremely intriguing venture if I do say so myself. Something I would like to mention is how dangerous the Library can be to those that seek to go against it's rules or residents, that being the Librarians, Archivists and Pagers. Quite the characters those things are. Funny thing; as inhumane as they look, they were once like you and I. The Library Card's that are acquired are by no means normal. If you get one, it is what is considered as your True Name, whatever that means. I apologize for my rather informal, stream of consciousness-like wording, here, but I do believe it is a representation of an individuals soul. I suppose I could note down as to what The Serpent's Hand's grand design is. I would know, it's something similar to my own ideology in a way, even if most are more barbaric or mundane in their methods. The Hand desires to repress that which suppresses the anomalous and otherwise unnatural from being seen and used in the world as we know it. I also know that The Serpent's Hand was responsible for a number of security breaches concerning the SCP Foundation and tends to recruit from all walks of life. The freedom they adhere too is impressive; who could say no? I would describe myself as...: Sane as a bird, eccentric as Einstein. Ok, I admit; that was not very clever of me. Point is, I am a seeker, a finder, a taker of knowledge, and one whom shares with those whom deserve it. I'm not a picky person either; I did have pineapples on pizza at some stage. It takes a brave soul to pull that off. My story about finding the Library & The Serpent's Hand starts with... an old yet functional toilet, sometime after I had begun amassing my collection of various artifacts of power and intrigue. I had heard stories from one of my employees in Texas that certain individuals within a bar's bathroom were periodically disappearing from time to time at a specific time of day. Not wanting to pass the opportunity up at potentially soiling my clothes in, well, feces. I had setup a rather obscure monitoring station equipped with sound recording and video equipment, built to track any changes in the behaviors of the tenets and patrons of the bar. After much patience, my equipment began noticing something strange; the bar had one individual less, one less than the original amount. There was no possibility that anyone could of escaped via any other means; there was only one entrance. I made my move towards the bar. Once I arrived at the toilet.. it did not appear out of the ordinary. Just a toilet. Apparently it was out of order too, so it couldn't function in the first place. In the name of uncovering that which should be uncovered and for my own personal gain, I did what had to be done. I sat down, pulled my pants down, and took a shit... and that was that. The shit was done, I reached for the handle, and that's when it happened - I was somewhere else; a place filled with books, walls that were as high as sky scrapers and with creatures of varying designs and horrifying makeup. All with my pants down. Suffice to say I was appropriately horrified by my inappropriate appearance, especially since three rather mundane individuals were staring at me with their brows raised high and eyes filled with scrutiny at my otherwise exposed position. They didn't say anything, though, much to my relief. They simply walked away in a collective direction. Dazed as I was, I followed them. Several minutes of walking had me wide eyed at the vast collection of books surrounding me; I must have looked like a lost puppy. The three individuals said nothing as they suddenly stopped and turned to face a lamp, a desk and a chair. Each of them procured a blank piece of paper, a red apple and a knife. I was intrigued; their coordination was immaculate and almost frightening. They proceeded to cut straight down the middle of the apple, thereafter proceeding to place the halves of each apple underneath the lamp. Each of them took a seed, placed it in their mouths and swallowed. They stopped, briefly, looking towards me. One of them, a female Caucasian of unimportant features procured another apple, a piece of paper and a knife, before turning back to their duties. I was astonished; perhaps they wanted me to do as they did? The three turned their attention back towards the items in front of them. The paper's began wrapping themselves around the cut apples, extremely cleanly if I must say so myself. They placed their hands on the now paper apple slices and, well, they were no longer there, including the items they used, but not the ones they had left for me. I felt sick; it was probably the sudden location change and overwhelming amount of alien-like monstrosities in the area, but I knew what I needed to do. Quickly, I repeated their actions, taking care to be as immaculate as them. Once I swallowed the seed, I was sitting in a chair, surrounded by people, all staring at me. The female was also there, closest to me. She said only one thing. "We are The Serpents Hand."
  10. RP Name: Carson Smith Steam Name: Sir Rose Steam ID: STEAM_0:0:43258039 Playtime and Level: Level 50, 02w 0d 18h Warns: --- What is the Department of External Affairs?: The Department of External Affairs plays the role of ensuring the safety and integrity of the foundation from external sources, including but not limited to hostile or otherwise unknown GOI's, anomalies and the threat of information leakage / the risk of the global populace discovering the foundations existence. If at anytime the public is made aware of the Foundation or an anomaly, it is the role of External Affairs to act. Additional roles the DoEA plays is the recruitment of foundation personnel from military and civil institutes to aid the ranks of research personnel, MTF, or other tertiary sectors (such as service personnel / cafeteria) for the foundation. In a nutshell, some individuals call this department HR due to it's work. Additionally, the DoEA is combined together with the Intelligence Agency to create one large department split into four subsections; The Administrative and Operations Bureao; The Desinformation Bureao; The Intelligence Bureao; The Recruitment Bureao. Who is the Head of External Affairs?: The Head of External Affairs at the moment is Cameron Stoker. In term's of who he is, they are responsible for the entire External Affairs department. What is a GOI?: A GOI, aka, a 'Group of Interest', are societies similar to that of the Foundation in which they have taken an interest in the anomalous, posses anomalous individuals, objects, qualities or are aware of the Foundations intentions. There are a number of GOI's, some hostile, other's not. Understanding that not all of the GOI's around us are hostile is important to our survival. Regardless of that matter, the most well known GOI would probably be known as the Chaos Insurgency. The Chaos Insurgency (CI) are actively hostile against the Foundation and all of those under it's employment, with Class D being the exception. They bear no eye towards the anomalies in the Foundations hands and instead seek to do just as their name implies; invoke Chaos within the Foundation. Another GOI which are not trying to kill us all the time is The Global Occult Coalition. Though they believe in a similar ideology as the foundation in which they serve humanity or wish to protect them, at least, they harbor no kindness towards anomalies. They seek to destroy any they come into contact with and pride themselves on it as the 'Police of the Paranormal world.' Though i've mentioned it before, I believe I should say it once more: Not all GOI's are our enemies. Keep them within sight, never too close and never too far. Who does the HoEA answer to?: The O5 council. What are the duties of a HoEA?: The HoEA performs similar roles to an ordinary External Affairs agent. However, the Head of the department manages the local Field Agents and subordinates (Affairs agents) in gathering intelligence on the local populace of Ovis City, specifically the surrounding GOI's and/or POI's. With that being said, the Head is additionally able to employ captured humanoid anomalies and hostile GOI forces as members of the Foundation, (Think task force X, suicide squda stuff). Each individual is implanted with a nanite explosive and placed within either Sigma-66 and Omega 12. Additionally, the HoEA is able to ask MTF to perform raids on hostiles if needed. Aside from that, their job is external affairs and as such they must maintain proper disinformation of the Foundation from the public eye and to keep everyone that could pose a threat in check. Activities performed by the HoEA should generally be presented to the O5 council on-site if necessary, otherwise they will limit themselves to maintaining a presence on the foundation, on-site. What is MTF Sigma-66 and Omega-12?: Unlike most MTF units, MTF Sigma-66 and Omega-12 are recruited from the ranks of hostile GOI's and captured humanoid anomalies that display desirable traits, useful for employment for the foundation. To ensure the loyalty of these conscripts, a nanite explosive is placed in their necks to prevent retaliation or a means of disobeying the foundation or the HoEA. To describe the differences, MTF Sigma-66 are individuals recruited from GOI's detained by the foundation. Generally speaking the HoEA should affirm their compliance with the rules set in place by the current HoEA. Omega-12 are drawn more commonly from anomalous humanoids or anomalous civilians which comply with the same rules, provided they have abilities which suit the foundations needs. Describe the SCP Foundation as a GOI: The SCP Foundation is a world-funded organization self-tasked by the O5 council with containing anomalies of all types, safe, dangerous or otherwise in order to preserve the normality that is the mundane civilian life. They often employ MTF forces (Military personnel) to make first contact with unknown or potential anomalies before retrieving and/or containing them at one of their many unmarked facilities. At these facilities, researchers are recruited due to their expertise in their field and various resistances to infohazards and cognitohazards which may prove useful towards the foundations research and goals. As anomalies begin their classification in the foundation, researchers are then permitted to use either unmanned drones or Class D, depending on whether the anomaly permits it. Some anomalies may prevent the use of technologies such as recordings and cameras, which is why these Class D must be used. To maintain their presence more easily in the public, the Foundation often poses as national security or local law enforcement in order to deter the need for global media attention. It is a secretive organisation afterall. Ultimately, the foundation is not evil. It seeks to serve humanity, to protect them from the anomalous, and maintain the illusion of normalcy.
  11. [BASIC INFORMATION] In-Game Name: Carson Smith STEAM ID: STEAM_0:0:43258039 Current In-Game time: 01w 6d 11h (Shown in screenshot BELOW) Current Warnings ( Show a screenshot of your warns in game): [IMPORTANT INFORMATION] 1. Please list the first 3 roles of Ethics Committee and what it is they do as part of the foundation and Site Administration?* The Ethics Committee seeks to ensure in context, that all resources used are used properly and handled without waste. Examples of this may include the random and wasteful brutalisation of Class D for their inability to perform a task - this is when a member of the Ethics Committee should step in. Essentially, the Committee believes in cruelty only when it is necessary, for the foundation is not evil and not cruel. That, and they work to preserve necessary resources from being depleted unnecessarily. Any actions that may be seen as evil, but are for the necessity for the safety of the foundation, it's members and the rest of human society. General specifications on a member's ordinary day in any SCP containment facility is to meet with department heads and/or individuals. Reports may be made if needed to include them into the Ethics Committee. As for the first three roles the Committee performs, it is as follows: The Committee seeks to establish a tangent in which they are able to easily oversee the activities of all on-site personnel regardless of what role they perform, may it be a service worker whom collects trash to a researcher utilising Class D on an experiment. Clearance and position do not matter for the committee, for all individuals are expected to be overseen by such individuals so that they are performing their duties to the best of their abilities. This brings me to the second role. Each Committee member is tasked with assisting those whom need it perform their duties to the best that they possibly can. This does not mean that they should be happy with what they do, but so that they are able to fulfil their role at their highest with hopefully, an all time low on negative outcomes. Lastly, the Committee is tasked with assisting Site Administration with any problems that they may be facing as well as being a tool to re-educate them, if need be, in performing their duties. If individuals are incapable of performing their duties to specific degrees, then sanctions such as re-education/training and/or demotion are tools which are available to the Committee. It should be noted that using said tools should be communicated with, with any relevant personnel. 2. Can you explain the 3 Lessons of the ethics committee and why they are important?* Three lessons that the Committee endorses in are as follows: 1. The foundation is not evil. Though many may see it as such and many more may agree upon the very thought that it is, the SCP foundation does not indulge in unnecessary cruelty and the wastefulness of human life in the name of science. The foundation is but a servant towards maintaining the security and privacy of any anomalous objects within it's grasp to protect not only itself, but the public world from accessing said objects for potentially malicious reasons such as hostile GOI's; this is the very reason the SCP foundation exists in the first place; to Secure anomalous objects, thereafter to contain them, then finally to protect them and ourselves from the rest of the world. People may see the foundation as evil due to the admittedly grotesque practices they carry out during research. It should be understood that the foundation is an organisation that also seeks to understand any and all anomalies that come into their possession for classification and whilst some tests may be conducted without the loss of life, some must be sacrificed for the greater good. This is why the D class personnel exists, drawn from the ranks of deathrow and/or with no other alternatives to lean on. This greater good is for the safety of the human race as a whole. 2. The Foundation doesn't rule the world. Treat the foundation more as an unannounced service to the world rather than the elusive 'government' cooperation with numerous potentially world ending anomalies in it's arsenal. The safety and normalcy that we all see in our world today is due to the foundations efforts in maintaining world order in securing all of these anomalies. No one asked for the foundation, but it is there regardless, liked or disliked. It is a thankless, gruesome job done so that others may live in ignorant, peaceful bliss. 3. The "P" stands for protect. The SCP foundation seeks to protect; it's context isn't simply for one thing. They protect it's employees, researchers and members. They protect the anomalies that they recover from the public eye and as such, overall, protect humanity from the insanity that are SCP's. The organisation, "SCP", is split into three parts: 1. Secure. They secure anomalies from the public eye (ideally) before anyone else can get their hands on it. This is for their own good as no one is able to properly understand the potentially dangerous qualities of the object, no matter how mundane it may look at first glance. 2. Contain. The foundation's operatives will contain the object. At this stage, researchers assigned are able to begin the process of understanding what exactly it is the object can do, why it came into fruition, etc. 3. Finally, protect. No one needs to understand why the foundation chooses to protect the human race or the object itself from imminent dangers, but they do so regardless. 3. Why do you believe you should be accepted into the Ethics Committee?* I enjoy speaking to people and roleplaying within the foundation. I have recently returned from university to begin my prominent activity once again, mostly as Site Adviser (since I don't have VIP), allowing me to assist the current director whenever needed and wherever I am requested. More often then none, I feel solace in the ability to perform my job to the best of my abilities. Joining the Ethics Committee will allow me to undertake even more roles within the foundation and expand my curiosity for storytelling and roleplay. As to why I believe I should be on the Committee; I am a quick decision maker and a firm speaker. If there is something that needs to be done, I will do my very best to take it into my own hands as long as my current role permits it. The Site Adviser role is limiting, and permits only as much as the current Site Director allows. I enjoy creating new stories for myself and benefitting others from the roleplay scenarios which I would be able to create from such a role such as the Ethics Committee. Finally, I enjoy communication. Communication is an important trait in any organisation. Hopefully I will be able to assist in any way, form or method by using said expertise! 4. Explain in detail what the SCP Facility is and why it is important.* The SCP Facility/foundation exists as a means of containing any and all objects/humanoids/sentient beings and otherwise which exhibit anomalous properties which defy the laws of our world and/or universe. By doing this, the foundation intentionally is able to 'kill two birds with one stone'; protect humanity and prevent the public from acknowledging the existence of anomalous entities and the foundation itself. Upon containment at one of the numerous facilities the foundation has at it's disposal, the anomalous entity/object goes through a series of tests for classification depending on factors including how easy it is to contain and what anomalous attributes it exhibits. 5. If you are playing Ethics Committee and a situation has occurred with the O5 being unethical and unlawful by ordering mass executions of high ranking members, what would you do? Any incriminating evidence should be gathered. Once done, have the O5 moved to isolation / custody. Committee members, if applicable, should be informed. 6. You hear that the Site Director and Head Reseracher have been abusing the powers of the SCPs on site(such ass 500 and 2295), what do you do? Perform a quick investigation into their actions. Find anything of relevance which pertains to such abuse, thereafter, inform committee members and/or current O5's for approval to carry out a punishment/demotion. 7. You witness 2 Researchers wasting D-Class by throwing them into SCP-106 for "Feeding", what do you do? Detain the researchers. Describe to them the unethical practices of their activities as a waste of resources and summarily demote them for doing so. 8. While on duty a breach occurs and you have the time and option of opening 1 of 2 gates to save someone from an incoming SCP, on 1 side is a fellow ECM and O1 unit and on the other 5 junior researchers, what gate do you open and why? Do my best to save the 5 junior researchers. The O1 unit is capable of combat and as such is able to defend themselves and the ECM from harm more easily than the researchers, that, and research is one of the primary reasons for the foundations containment efforts.
  12. I don't have VIP so I can't play on the job, so rip me, but thanks! In previous versions I was able to play SD though, if that counts for anything.
  13. OOC/Basic Information Your in-Game Name: Caron Smith Your SteamID: STEAM_0:0:43258039 Your Age: 20 Your In-Game Playtime: 01W 5D 21H Your Warns: 0 Rate Your RP Skills: 8/10 What O5 Designation would you prefer (1-12) and what character?: O5-5 "Blackbird" / Any vacant position. How do you initiate a lockdown/unlockdown?: To initiate a lockdown/unlockdown a current one, you must type: /lockdown. To unlockdown, /unlockdown How do you Initiate a nuke?: Call an admin+ with good reason! Have you read and understand the rules of SCP-RP?: I have and I do understand. Why do you believe you should be part of the O5 Council and what can you bring to the role e.g (Pressure in extreme situations, making the tough decisions): - Negotiation / Communication - Creativity / Decision making The O5 council is mysterious, hidden and somewhat intangible to an extent. This brings opportunity for roleplay and for new stories to be created from the basis of what is the O5 council. I understand the necessity for decent roleplayers of a creative mindset and the ability to make on-the-spot decisions which can most definitely impact the majority of foundation personnel. I believe I fit the criteria for the most part. Furthermore, I understand that there is no 'perfect decision' when being pressured to make one; it's a situation similar to the ethical/psychological test, the Trolley Problem; needing to weigh the situation from both a subjective and/or objective stance whilst valuing human life and their skills as individual people is something no one can do easily, yet they must make a decision. Something I often tell myself when making a decision is that "you should make one, even if it is not the best choice." Choosing nothing at all may impact the situation you're in far more than choosing something, even if it is the lesser of another evil. With that in mind, I am a communicator and a speaker. I enjoy speaking to other people on the server about the research opportunities they've undertaken (if they're a researcher for example) as well as giving advice on spicing any mundanities up to make it more interesting not only for themselves, but for all parties involved. The speaker mindset also allows me to connect with others on a more diplomatic scale; the ability to negotiate in an otherwise unfavourable environment and to keep a cool head screwed on. I mentioned creativity. I can't build anything, that's for sure, but I do love stories. Talking about stories and creating a character revolving around said story gets the mind thinking and is something I believe I can pull off to a successful degree if given the chance. This is why I tend to play as the Site Advisor role moreso than any other job on the server. If anything, it gives the illusion of importance even if the role the job has on the hierarchy isn't at all that high, the advice the Advisor gives towards his superior is often valued. Past Experience: I used to be apart of Sierra, when that RP group was around a while back as well as another I cannot recall, if that provides any instance of experience to guide myself upon. Can you explain what an O5 does for the foundation and the site itself and why he himself differs from any other site Adminstration?: Site Administrators do their jobs and carry out the simplicities that is required of them without complaint and/or question for why they do such a task. They acknowledge the risks, having being called to take on an important position to safeguard the Foundation, the civilian populous as well as anyone else under their care. These individuals carry out the job provided by them from above, to hand down towards their staff. These individuals are amongst the more public within the foundation, though they still do tend to stay away from potentially dangerous anomalous objects due to the importance of their role. The O5 council on the other-hand, being the literal executives in charge of what's probably known as the scariest organisation in the world, operate away from anomalous objects and activities to perform whatever legislative tasks that they deem worthy of their notice and/or is OF great importance, such as passing new rules, laws and the such. With said position, they are essentially a databank of classified and dangerous information regarding the foundation and it's anomalous objects. The nature of each O5 council member means that most if not all of these individuals are kept out of sight, even within the foundation. What is the O5 Council?: The O5 council are a mysterious group of individuals in-charge of the Foundation as a whole. They are at the very top of the foundations hierarchy and typically have the same power as each other, though some sources believe that O5-1 has the most power of them all. Each individual within the Council is able to pass laws unto the foundation regarding Task Forces, research, D-class, etc, in order to safeguard the Foundation, the anomalies within as well as the public from the otherwise uncontrollable dangers that could wipe out humanity. Each O5 council member has their own Task Force; a small private army for their use essentially, mostly used to safeguard themselves and to perform any work that is required of said O5 council member. Due to the extensive knowledge and importance each member holds, they often keep to themselves, emerging within the foundation only if necessary and almost always avoiding contact with anomalous objects. Despite the relatively reclusive nature each member has, it is known that some individuals of the council have contact with other government officials to ensure the continued funding of the foundation itself. These individuals make the choices no one else wants to make. Explain what makes you special: I suppose if I were to call myself special, it would be my desire to communicate with others and form good connections between them. I have only recently returned to the server and as such, cannot be held to said special quality as of yet, but in time, I am certain that i'll be able to hold myself to that. Another thing I could say is my perseverance and willingness to improve upon myself as a player and a person. I recognise the difference between roleplay and simply talking OOC'ly about whatever stuff is on other peoples minds. It does wonders for stress, honestly. What Departement would you like to focus on? (Research, Mobile Task Forces, Ethics,...): Research / Ethics - Afternote: I've recently returned to the server, that's all. I've been at university lol.
