Hey, my name is Ewan, I'm 17 and from the scottish highlands. In school I'm in S6 (last year of college) and I'm doing all my stem subjects + English. When I finish school I want to go to college to get more qualifications before heading to Uni for a degree in Engineering. My dream job is to become a Royal Navy Weapon Engineer. I joined this server 2 months ago. From this I've hit 501st COL, I've met some really nice people and made friend’s here and also I’ve connected with other people in different servers in the W-G community. I would say I'm overall a positive,friendly and social person.

I think I should be picked for battalion because of my activity and my dedication in the server, I've been on this server for about 2 months, within that time. I have reached the rank of 501st Colonel, the highest rank before hierarchy. When it takes some people 3-4 months to reach Colonel, I try to do more than I am expected to do, this includes trainings and tryouts. My activity has improved since my last battalion application since I've been coming on for about 7-8 hours everyday now.

 

Another reason I believe I should be chosen for battalion is because of my leadership skills, during my time in the 501st I've led the regiment during events, so i know how to. I think that i’m competent and would be able to keep a grasp on the situations for the whole event. Out of SWRP, I do a leadership program called high life highland leadership program. In this program I host and lead events and fundraisers, I've hosted around 6-7 of these events that went really well. My dream job is to enter the military force as a leadership job being an officer. In CG ive also contributed greatly to helping the regiment the best i can.

Also i have been called out by RC for my leadership skills during one of their evaluations. I also reached the rank of Jedi Knight in it self shows dedication to knowing everything you need to know for a trial so im willing to learn.

 

Describe the roles and responsibilities of Battalion: (100 Words - Minimum)

When the base is a neutral state/Defcon 5, you are mainly there to Grant or Deny people for doing certain Actions like PFT’s or claiming an area of a base for a Regimental Training, they are there to make sure the base is working efficiently and healthy as possible, the way they make sure efficentsy is being met while overseeing all the regimental trainings and sim, making sure that training is best for the trooper and help him perform better in combat . If you believe that the regiment you are overseeing needs a training of some sorts to freshen them and improve on a certain aspect. You offer the training to them.

 

In every situation you must be acting professional such as referring to a trooper by his rank, not his name, walking instead of running and referring to higher ups as sir. they should be a role-model to look upto. 

 

When you are leading the base attack, you have the responsibilities to make decisions that can have a massive impact on an attack or a push/defense, you need to make sure that the goal you have set can be reached with minimal casualties and be reached quickly. This can be getting a regiment to use their equipment to stall the enemy for a push.(e.g Getting 212th to destroy barricades to help Frontline regiments start the initial push).

 

At the role of 2nd LT, you have the responsibility to be a regimental supervisor. You are there to oversee what the regiment is doing, and can give support by doing trainings for the regiment that will help benefit them. You also stick with them during attacks if you're not leading and haven’t been assigned a regiment to look over.

 have been banned in for LTARP , but that ban was instantly removed due to it being a misunderstanding

What do Battalion do during Combat, when they are not leading? (IN DETAIL)

When a Battalion member isn’t leading/co leading, they should be with the assigned regiment assisting them anyway possible unless they are told by the leading battalion to assist with another regiment, During combat you are not allowed to order your regiment however you like, let the commanding officer deal lead there regiment. you may tell them where to go when breaching a building or looking for an item.

 

What are the 3 duties a Battalion Officer Cadet has to complete before getting promoted as part of his mentoring session?:

Before a Battalion Officer Cadet can be promoted to Battalion Officer they must

 

1. Host a basic training that includes Faces, formations and then questions.

2. Must lead a Base Attack

3.Must host a debrief 

 

What is the job of the Co-Leader during events?

When you are co-leading in the event, you should be granting and denying requests while the Leader is giving out commands to the regiments. They should also be giving advice for big decisions. They are there to aid them.

 

Anything else: Ever since my old app, i’ve changed to not be doing the stuff that looks and sounds mingy, all the time i’m on the server i’ve tried to act as professional as i can be when i’m doing something. I know people will call me out for being a reg hopper, i can't lie i did do that when i wasent enjoying the server. but im enjoying it greatly now and will be improving my activity/loggins to a great extent. Also IK im a HL member, but really i can balance both servers and since HL wont be out for some time it gives me alot of time to get a stable ground

Hey, just like to add. Ive mentioned about HL in the Other Information, saying everything there explaininig that i can balance both of them, also the server wont be out for a while and will have a better and stable ground with both of them

Like others have said, your activity may be a problem, especially when HL releases. Your activity has been quite low recently and i imagine it would get worse when you eventually have to do your staff duties on Half Life. However, you did say that you can manage your roles and activity so i'll have to take your word for it.

My main issue is the Half life stuff. Personally I think you would be a great fit for Battalion but my issue is why should Battalion put effort into you? I mean half life could come out, and you take a huge LOA to get it on its feet, while other better candidates could invest more time, energy and power into the role. We should also mention that in 501st you didn't leave the best impression. You reached Colonel which I do congratulate but it was over 4 months ago. Alot can, and has changed and you could still be rusty on important things a battalion need, such as leadership or commitment, which you seem to struggle heavily with seeming as you can not stay in a regiment longer then a few weeks.

But I should congratulate you. You seem very committed and during my early days in 501st you did lead to a good standard in my eyes. You can be commit when needed. I think that is sown by you reaching Colonel and working tirelessly on the half life discord. You have also applied 2 times so you seem to have the goal in mind which I can not fault.

Over all my suggestion is to get into a regiment and stick with it till Major. Try to regain the skill you once had and work your ass off to set a better image for yourself. Also make sure that you become alot more active instead of being known to change regiments every few weeks. Good luck Banshee
