State the role of staff on the server: The role of staff is simple: They are to monitor players, making sure they are not breaking any forms of rules, they are to act as the representatives of the server and act like such to provide a positive impact on the players. They act as administration, giving out punishment where needed, when needed, and in a professional and timely manner. They act as guides, teaching and telling people what to do and how to do it, whether simple or complex. They are people to console in, when issues arise, staff are there to listen, and provide what aid they can to players as they need it or request it. No task should ever be overlooked or not considered worth staff time

Give some context about setting of C24 within the Half Life universe (150 words+): Set in Europe, at the heart of Geneva, the city itself is vastly different from the rest of the Universal Union administrated cities (such as C17, C8, etc) via an almost fanatical route of propaganda manipulation upon it's citizens, workforce and police. Its plentiful red banners in places through the city, creating a sense of strong-held nationalism, whereupon the old eagle of Geneva’s crest is prevalent. Up-front the city resembles whispers of the old world via its fake posture of prestige and comfort, where class-systems are really just an illusion. Its roads, paths and street buildings remain well kept and relatively clean. It could be argued that City 24 has as much in common with North Korea or Nazi Germany as with most other cities within the now Union-Occupied world. It is a pivotal seat of power in the Universal Union's stranglehold of the world. City 24 is harshly run by a small select circle, rather than one, or a board of administrators.

Have you added the Staff Manager on Steam? If not, add him: Yes

Do you understand that you can be demoted at anytime with a sufficient reason by a Hierarchy member?: Yes I understand Completely

Explain how you would handle these scenarios as a staff member:

1 ) You are told by a player in admin chat that another player is randomly killing people: Check Blogs: If true, bring offender, question, ban/warn accordingly to severity, if false, verbally warn reporter for leaving a false report

2 ) You are asked by a player about how to join a faction: Provide them with information, reminding them that anything that needs to be done ICly, must be done like that, such as a citizen gaining knowledge of rebel locations and recruitment centers, or directing them to the discord or the forums, potentially even reading areas from the forums to them as a guide

3 ) You catch somebody not performing RP and messing around: Remind them that this is a heavily RP-focused server, unless they are in an area specified for unserious acts. Otherwise (and this is the important bit): As long as they are not affecting or harming other people's RP or experiences on the server, then they should be left alone, if CP engage them due to their uncharacteristically acts and they don't see the RP through, then they are to be reminded and warned for their transgressions

4 ) Somebody acquires a rank but is not willing to RP with it properly: Remind them that they are meant to be acting in the role of the rank they have acquired, if they refuse to comply: warn them that they may lose that rank and it's according privileges. Repeated transgressions will result in removal from that role

5 ) A player is prop spamming: Freeze them, remind them that that is against the rules and proceed with a warning after removing their props, or getting them to do it. Further transgressions may result in kicks or bans.

6 ) Somebody does not agree with the outcome of an RP situation therefore he decides to break RP and act OOC: Judge according to the situation at hand, if there is no room for the RP situation to have occurred (E.G: the other party had broken a rule) then nullify the RP situation and deal from there. If there is valid reason behind the RP situation, then remind the player that this is just how the server is sometimes, if it had resulted in a PK (player-character kill) then tell them to appeal it on the forums, otherwise just make a new character

7 ) You bring a player into a sit and punish him however he does not agree with your decision and keeps arguing: Remind him that the staff on the server have the final say in terms of situations and that if the punished disagrees, they can gladly take it to the forums under a staff-abuse thread, supply them with the forum link to the staff-abuse thread page and return them, if they continue this behavior, proceed with mutes/gags and ask them to calm down and take it to the forums. Repeated offenses of this after lifting the mute/gag will result in punishment, so would ways of circumventing the mute or gag

8 ) Someone commits FailRP but claims the specific instance of FailRP you warned him for is not explained in detail within the rules: This depends on severity and common sense. First apply the FailRP situation to the rules, then to real-life, explain that the specific actions of the accused wouldn't be applicable in a sense of the character, the rules, or if you theoretically applied the situation to Real-Life. Otherwise get them to elaborate and debate it there. If the accused is not accepting, ask them to submit an appeal for their warn before resuming staff duty

9 ) A player evidently breaks a rule however he makes a good point in his defense by abusing loopholes within the rules: Advise him to not look for loopholes in rules, verbally warn him for using the loophole, and depending on the severity of the rule broken, give the normal punishment, whilst they have still broken a rule, they have provided you with information on a loophole that can then be given attention to to amend in the rules.

Answer the following questions in detail:

1 ) Explain the difference between Tier I rule-breaking and punishments and Tier II rule-breaking and punishments: As far as I have been aware: Tier I is Low-level rule breaks and mostly accidental stuff, such as AccidentalRDM, Acciental spam, etc. Tier II rule-breaking however is a person being in full-understanding of the rules and still breaking them, along with moderate infractions such as VRDM, RDM, Etc.

2 ) Explain the difference between IC and OOC. Also define Meta Gaming in relation with the two: IC means information, actions, reactions, smells, sights, etc, that your character would be affected by, but not you, stuff spoken to you by other characters would be IC information, such as an NPC giving your character a quest, that's IC. OOC means everything that wouldn't affect your character, such as stuff said by staff in staff sits, Discord chats, Teamspeak, OOC chat in game, etc. This is information that you as a real-world person would see, but not your character. MetaGaming is where you take information from an OOC form, such as In-game OOC chat, and use that information in-game, an example would be if you were a fresh character, and managed to read the CP radio guide, and somehow knew what all their radio chatter and code-phrases meant.

3 ) Explain the difference between Serious RP and Semi-Serious RP: Serious RP focuses on roleplay aspects such as actions, what you say, and what decision you make to have an impact on RP, rule-breaking is taken very seriously, however most times by an in-character job, making sure there is limited staff interaction unless explicitly needed, this isn't to say that staff aren't needed, it's just that most roleplay is self-contained. Semi-Serious is where roleplay is less "restricted" and time-based and more on the more "video-gamey" aspects of Roleplaying. Staff interaction is more commonplace and some rules aren't necessary due to their environment being more prevalent in SeriousRP

4 ) Define PassiveRP and explain its role and importance in a serious RP gamemode, also explain your view on the two within our gamemode: PassiveRP is defined mostly as something that takes place outside of main-line roleplay, like menial tasks in a way, stuff like general conversation, getting healed, eating and drinking is mostly considered PassiveRP, it is something that will come and go, like an inspection on a Military base, it's more a regular thing. It can also be something that does not involve an entire server, such as running a small market stall. It is important as it allows a much more natural feeling and progression, further building a world around the server and it's story. My view on PassiveRP in a seriousRP gamemode is incredibly positive as not only does it help stop the server from feeling bland, but just the tiniest pushes from what occurs in PassiveRP can have a major impact on what happens in the game itself. SeriousRP on the other hand is a core component of what the server and it's gamemode are at it's core, without serious RP, the game would not function.

5 ) Define the term of Combat Baiting: Combat baiting is fairly self explanatory, it is where a player, performs certain actions in hopes to trigger CombatRP, such as purposefully engaging violently against CP, or acting in an uncharacteristic manner to result in a fight, sometimes this can be done in an attempt to get the baited in trouble for breaking another rule, or going against something mentioned IC. Combat Baiting is considered a punishable offense by most standards, and can also lead into other rule breaks

6 ) Define Power Gaming / Power RP: Powergaming or PowerRP is defined as the act of doing stuff that you physically or mentally shouldn't be able to do, such as having a weapon when you don't, being overly athletic, or performing more actions within an appropriate time-frame, essentially acting in a way that shows more power than the common person and/or what your job should be able of doing: E.G OTA would have some leniency with Powergame as they are literally augmented.

7 ) Define the term FailRP: FailRP is defined as failing to roleplay in the appropriate/according/acceptable manner, doing something that is not what your character would be allowed or able to do when under restrictions, Powergaming is similar to this, but Powergame mostly focuses on the aspect of impossibility, where as FailRP focuses on the aspect of Improbability and situational actions, such as you wouldn't be able to use a door's touchpad if you were in cuffs, or you wouldn't be able to open a door that works on a keycard with a lockpick

8 ) Define the term FearRP: FearRP is defined as taking actions whilst under the influence of fear that you wouldn't be able to do. The most common example of FearRP is being at gunpoint, regardless of your character's backstory, you would still be fearing for your life if placed at gunpoint, you wouldn't retaliate, you wouldn't pull out a weapon, and you wouldn't do something that would result in you risking your life.

Explain in length and detail as to why you deserve staff more than other applicants. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member (250+ words):

There are several reasons why I believe I am a good pick for staff within HLRP, the following is an assortment of Online and RL examples which I can apply to a staff role:

I am a well-spoken, hardworking and responsible individual, I can complete a task when given instructions and I have vast experience when communicating with the public, I can prioritize workloads and will willingly put myself forward for when work needs to be done.

I like to learn about and partake in different activities that allow me to broaden my skill set and learn new things. I am a quick learner and will be able to pick things up easily if things change, I am able to adapt well to tasks or issues and address them as they arise

During years 10 through 11, I partook in the school’s peer mentor scheme. Through my actions during this time I was awarded with a Princess Diana award and a Golden Lion’s Certificate. I believe that this shows that I am willing to help others and have developed my communication skills when talking to my peers and my mentors.

Since 2017 I have been a Voluntary Police Cadet working alongside Humberside police. I have been involved in numerous police engagements with the public and local schools showing my ability to communicate well with people of all backgrounds and ages. I have been presented with the honour of being nominated as cadet of the year in Humberside and I’ve been given the honour of meeting two High Sheriffs as a representative of the Police Cadets. This shows my reliability as a representative for a group as well as dedication.

I have volunteered my time at my school’s sports day event, helping organise sporting events for the other year groups. This shows my use of organisation skills and communication skills with my peers.

I have participated as a member of the 2018 NCS scheme and during phase 3 have helped raise over £250.00, through a sponsored walk and car-boot sale, for a charity called ‘The Hinge’. Due to completing the scheme, I have received a certificate signed by Teresa May congratulating my success. This shows my skills with money handling, organisation, teamwork and communication skills as well as timekeeping and reliability.

I have experience running multiple Trainings within RRP and SWRP and have also built and run D&D campaigns of my own creation, showing a sum of skills applicable to that of the Event-staff roles, as that is where I have previously expressed my interests in. I also have the necessary understanding of ULX commands, gameplay, and roleplay to be able to run these events

I have continuously given my time as staff to Werwolf Gaming, having been staff twice on DarkRP, once on Rust and SCPRP and have also involved myself in the early stages of development, organising and assisting in the creation of spreadsheets, word documents, handbooks, radio guides and also general lore, I had even volunteered to assist Worm in the coding and development and have even helped in testing the server, finding issues.

I have, throughout the development stages of HLRP, shown myself to be trustworthy in words and action as I have only discussed development in-depth with other members of the Development team for HLRP.

With that, I thank the hierarchy for taking their time to read through my application for staff, and in my closing words hope to show my further expression for the vacant Event Manager position, in hopes of getting accepted, either working up to that spot, or being selected to fill it at the discretion of the server Hierarchy.

Many thanks
Sincerely
GamingGoombah/Tony Bamboni/Dirty

I don't know you too well Tony, but from the application I can relate to you a little bit.

The Application itself has been done extremely well and is detailed. It feels like it took quite some time to write it (Not Rushed) and it is easy to read. Very well worded , I feel like you are professional and you would make a very good addition to the Staff Team. Good Luck !

The staff application is well written and all questions are answered correctly, but some are a bit thin and in relation to question 5 with the prop spammer you said you would warn him, but the server is strictly serious RP and a prop- Spammers will most likely get a permanent ban instead of just a warning for the first time
