Jack. 94 Share Posted July 9, 2020 (edited) I think there was something said about gambling not being allowed. Also we have chess and checkers which are super popular, adding all of these may mean people never leave the bar and lose focus on actual RP. Edited July 10, 2020 by Kids Link to comment

Force 9 Share Posted July 10, 2020 Kids you know there are rules about staying in the bar. if you order them they have to leave so you dont need to worry about that problem Mort 1 Link to comment
Jack. 94 Share Posted July 10, 2020 That's besides the point, why would I be ordering dudes out the bar? I mean trainings and RP would decrease because there are these distractions. Link to comment
Torbjørn 11 Share Posted July 10, 2020 Personally I wouldn't mind this to be implemented, since I love playing blackjack and I think it would be great as an activity to do while there is no event or trainings. But I also think adding this to the server could add a bunch of different problems to the server. First of all I'm not sure about if it's allowed legally speaking, since the majority of the player base are below 18 years old and since you are able to use to buy credits using real money, it could be considered underage gambling. It could also cause the problem of too many people being irresponsible with their ingame credits that they possible bought (or parents bought), due to the fact they are younger. Anyway I'm not going to pretend I know much about online gambling laws, so hopefully someone with more knowledge of this can correct me if needed. Past ranks: Nobody cares Link to comment
Evilgejf 43 Author Share Posted July 10, 2020 (edited) Well thats understandble so i belive maybe harland just have to make more rules about buying credits and to make sure there arent any problem about it in the future Edited July 10, 2020 by Evilgejf Link to comment
Gibby 2 Share Posted July 10, 2020 (edited) Adding to Torbs comment, I believe since the server is situated in the UK, UK online gambling laws apply. After reading a very tiny bit about it I believe you need a license in order to run a online casino, and it's probably (almost definitely) illegal to let a person below the age of 18 interact with a game that involves gambling with real money (seeing credits can be bought with real money). buddie 3 Share Posted July 10, 2020 NRP has a Casino and you can buy ingame currency there aswell so they are either breaking the law on NRP or its legal. Link to comment
Evilgejf 43 Author Share Posted July 10, 2020 Same with the Dark RP and GTA-RP servers so i dont think this is gonna be a problem for harland Link to comment

Force 9 Share Posted July 12, 2020 I mean if what your saying is true about it being in NRP and SCP then it sounds like Harland knows how to adhere to the gambling laws Link to comment

Whole thing about underage gambling was talked about below, and the legality of it all. However young people spending credits they or their parents may have bought i can see being a problem, but tbh a young persons stupidity with money should not stop certain stuff from coming onto the server IMO. First of all, it goes under EU online gambling laws, if it were to be actual currencies you were using. Seeing as it is ingame currencies it does not go under any law, and no license is needed, as yes you need a license to run an online gambling casino, as you would with an actual casino, but gambling with non currencies are not considered by law actual casinos. It is therefor not illegal for a minor to spend credits on gambling either. Because something can be bought for real money does not mean it is real money, this exact example was used in the CSGO gambling scene: "If i go out and buy a banana, and i play someone rock paper scissors for my banana, it is not illegal because i can buy bananas with real currencies. Only gambling or betting with real actual currency goes under any law." Also buying keys and crates in csgo or packs in hearthstone is legal for under 18, and you spend actual money on that. Reason CS:GO gambling started going downhill and sites were closing was because they needed licenses, but not by law by Valve. Valve received a huge amount of backlash and 2 lawsuits (And nobody would give a fuck if a star wars roleplay server did this, so dont see how this could become and issue) in the end and took action regulating gambling of their skins a lot, but it was never at any point illegal. Basically for short, gambling with non currencies online has been legally challenged many times, but never been illegal, and the main problems with these sorts of gambling are purely ethical in almost all cases. I have sources for everything, as i was a huge consumer of TF2 and CSGO gamblings so i followed it all very closely as it all happened, and therefor know a thing or two about this subject.
