  1. Is this a Junior Developer or Developer Application?: This is a Junior Developer Application. Server(s) within WG you have played/currently play:(include your highest IG rank for each/any and estimated time played) Highest rank CWRP: Clone Wars: CT & 212th Temp EXO. Current rank: 212th Null ARC Colonel. I have around 3mo 2w (3k hours) of playtime in total. Discord Name: chimplays Steam Name: ChimPlays Steam ID: (https://steamidfinder.com/ STEAM_0:1:198241927 Age when applying: 22. What country do you currently reside in? What is your time-zone: The Netherlands, CET (UTC+1). What is your coding knowledge?: (i.e do you know LUA, have been a dev previously on gmod, work in a job in real life that involves coding, self taught etc. Please be as detailed as you can be.) Most of my experience with coding is in Python since I learned this at highschool (when I was 14) and expanded my knowledge at university (ethical hacking degree). I have some experience in HTML/CSS and Java/JavaScript as well. I also know how to code Assembly, Hexadecimal and C (this is for buffer overflow attacks). I work as an ethical hacker at the moment, so I use my skills to make/edit Python/PHP scripts when needed. I also use SQL (in combination with Python for automation) to enumerate databases. Below are some examples of what I have coded in Python during school (the code is mostly in Dutch, including the comments so my apologies for that): Colour guessing game: This small game is based on reaction speed. The goal is to be the fastest to click on the correct colour 10 times. You start by inputting a colour that you choose (yellow, red or blue). The computer then also chooses a colour. Then it will “mix” these colours to make the correct answer. It uses randomisation to change the colour of the different boxes every time, and it also randomizes the colour that the computer chooses. It then shows your score and time. Stock market notifier: This Python code uses webscraping with Beautifulsoup and Pushbullet to send notifications to a phone whenever a stock can be bought or sold (these values can be customized). It scrapes the stock market page based on the information located in the HTML code of the page. File sorting: Simple code that sorts downloaded files into folders based on their file type. It downloads files from a chosen page, and then automatically sorts it into the folders. Discord bot: This was a group project. We made a malicious discord bot with multiple features like: keylogging, screen capture, camera recording, etc. My contribution to the bot was a face detection feature using cv2. Why do you want to Dev for Werewolf Gaming?: At the moment I work in Cyber Security and coding is not the main task, so I would like to pick it back up again. I loved coding for school and homework. I also want to help the community in any way I can help. Being able to provide improvements/changes which make people happy and make them enjoy the game they play, is my biggest reason to dev. If accepted, is there a server you would want to primarily work on?: (If you have no preference, leave as N/A) Clone Wars (CWRP). If Accepted, Is there a developer you would prefer to learn from?:(Only relevant for Junior Dev apps, remove if applying for full developer) Marm/Sooth. Do you own a working microphone? When you communicate do you type or speak: I have a working microphone and I speak and type when I communicate.
  2. +1 - Been a long time member of the community - Good amount of playtime - Rejoined recently but seems dedicated!
  3. +1 - Long time member - Trusted with ULX - Good guy and good person overal
  4. In-game name(s): - Chim Steam Name: - ChimPlays Steam ID: (https://steamidfinder.com/) : - STEAM_0:1:198241927 Age when applying: - 21 What country do you currently reside in? What is your time-zone: - The Netherlands, CET Can you speak and type English fluently: - Yes, I speak and type English fluently Current total game-time on the server (type !time): - 3mo 4d 36m IC Rank(s) and OOC Donation Rank(s) on CWRP: - 212th Null ARC Colonel Chim, Platinum VIP Do you own a working microphone? When you communicate do you type or speak: - Yes, I own a working microphone. When I communicate I speak and type (when needed). When did you join the server? Have you taken any breaks since: - I joined the server for the first time back in August 2019. I played for around 200 hours (these got reset at some point) and then took a year break. Rejoined a couple times but finally stayed and played seriously without any further breaks since October 2022. How often do you use our Teamspeak 3 server, CWRP Discord and our forums: - I use the Teamspeak 3/Discord server everyday. I use the forums when needed (not actively using them atm). State all your previous OOC punishments (bans, kicks etc.) and a screenshot of your list of warns. (Go in game and type !warns.) Upload it to http://imgur.com/ or as a steam community screenshot and include the link). Your game time must be visible as well in the screenshot. (Type !time then open warns menu, and drag the menu so chat is visible with the time): - I have 1 official warn from back in 2019 (RDM with a DU shield). https://imgur.com/a/gsANSti State the role of staff on the server: - Staff makes sure people within the community and on the server enjoy their time. This can be done either by punishing people who try to make others have a bad experience, or by enabling people to make claims to get help with whatever they need help with (trainings, getting unstuck, etc). Staff enables players to have a smooth and fun experience. Have you read the server rules and are you familiar with them? - Yes I have read the rules and I am familiar with them. List of all previous server staff experience: - I have no staff experience in staff on GMOD. I do have experience on dealing with mingy/unserious/rude people since I used to be a (cringy) Discord mod for a server with 20k+ people in the past. Do you understand that you can be demoted at anytime with a sufficient reason by a Hierarchy member?: - Yes I understand. Explain how you would handle these scenarios as a staff member: 1 ) You are told by a Player that somebody is randomly killing other clones: - I would check logs to see if this player is indeed killing other clones (and how many). If this is true, I would teleport to them and pull them away and explain what they did wrong, together with either an ARDM, RDM or MRDM warn (or even banning for the appropriate amount of time). 2 ) You are asked by a Cadet to be trained using the @ function: - I would ask a Battalion member to ask NCO+’s to train a cadet. If this takes too long I will start to teleport NCO+’s to the cadet room to ask them if they want to train a cadet until someone trains them. 3 ) During a debrief, a CT accidentally shoots someone, whilst trying to safety their weapon: - I would not do anything. It was an accident and battalion can deal with this IC. If the situation escalates, refer to my answer to question 1. 4 ) A CT #### doesn't salute you, despite you being a rank higher than 2nd LT: - I honestly would only inform them that it’s technically a rule (only if I am on job) but I am not going to punish them IC or OOC. 5 ) Someone commits FailRP, but claims that the specific instance of FailRP is not explicitly stated within the server rules: - I will inform them why it still falls under FailRP, and that I will warn them if I see them doing it again after the interaction. 6 ) You bring a player into a sit and punish them accordingly, however they do not agree with your punishment and keep on arguing: - I would explain to them that I am just there to make the situation more clear to them, and why I am punishing them for what they did. I am there to make sure players have fun, and that I am not the offender's enemy. I just want to make sure they do not make the same mistake again. If that does not make them listen, I will inform them they can go to the forums for a second opinion but will still punish them. Explain in length and detail as to why you deserve staff more than other applicants. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member (250+ words): - I have played this server for a while now and while I do not know everything, I feel like I understand quite well about how this community operates. I spend a lot of hours of my time on the server and that shows my lasting/steady commitment. I love this server and community to pieces and do not see myself leaving any time soon. The main motivation for staff is to help the community out in a more impactful way than I am currently able to. I would like to show my love for the server through the role of staff. - On a more technical level, I believe I would quickly pick up the tasks expected of staff since I work in the IT sector. My job also allows me to have fairly flexible hours, making a stable choice for staff. I am confident I will be able to complement the current staff team. - In terms of my role within the community, I aim to be a source of joy. I often make people laugh at the silly things that I do/say (and the amount of inside jokes I have developed with a fair amount of them). Becoming staff would enable me to put more smiles on people's faces, which would also make me incredibly happy in return. Being staff would also enable me to ensure the safety of players both IC and OOC. - I genuinely care so much about you guys, and I appreciate anyone reading this staff application to the end. While I cannot put all my feelings in this short text, I hope it gets my sincerity and enthusiasm across. Stay awesome and I hope you guys will give me a chance. - Your CWRP Rat, Chim
  5. In-game name(s): Chim. Steam Name: ChimPlays. Steam ID: (https://steamidfinder.com/): STEAM_0:1:198241927. Age when applying: 21. What country do you currently reside in? What is your time-zone: The Netherlands, CET. Can you speak and type English fluently: Yes, I speak and type English fluently. Current total game-time on the server (type !time): 2mo 3w 1d 8h 11m. IC Rank(s) and OOC Donation Rank(s) on CWRP: 212th Gamma ARC LT Colonel Chim, Platinum VIP. Do you own a working microphone? When you communicate do you type or speak: Yes, I own a working microphone. When I communicate, I speak and type (when needed). When did you join the server? Have you taken any breaks since: I joined back in August 2019. Played for a month straight and got 7 days of playtime. Then left and rejoined in 2020 and 2021 for a few days each. Then finally came back for a long time in September 2022 and have not taken any big breaks since. How often do you use our Teamspeak 3 server, CWRP Discord and our forums: I use TeamSpeak and discord every day, forums not so much unless it’s for looking up information and staying updated about the community. State all your previous OOC punishments (bans, kicks etc.) and a screenshot of your list of warns. (Go in game and type !warns.) Upload it to http://imgur.com/ or as a steam community screenshot and include the link). Your game time must be visible as well in the screenshot. (Type !time then open warns menu, and drag the menu so chat is visible with the time): I have gotten jokingly banned twice for a couple of hours each because I was drunk and staff wanted me to get some sleep (2022). Then I got a warn in 2019 for RDM (shield crushed my friend and staff saw it). Got warned again as a joke, which is now removed. https://imgur.com/a/L5W6ukx (playtime and warns). State the role of staff on the server: Staff is here to make sure the rules are being followed and to keep the game fun for everyone. They help out when people make claims and are sometimes people’s role models and set the example for players. Have you read the server rules and are you familiar with them? Yes, I have read the rules, and I am familiar with them. List of all previous server staff experience: I used to be a discord mod in a server with 20k people back in 2017-2018 for 4 months. I have no staff experience on Garry’s Mod. Do you understand that you can be demoted at anytime with a sufficient reason by a Hierarchy member?: Yes, I understand I can be demoted at anytime with a sufficient reason by a Hierarchy member. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Explain how you would handle these scenarios as a staff member: 1 ) You are told by a Player that somebody is randomly killing other clones: I would go to the player in question and make sure they do not kill anyone else (freeze them if they are still shooting). Then I will check logs. If they only hurt people, I will warn them for ARDM, and if they did kill someone, I will warn them for RDM. If they killed more than 3 clones, I will warn them for MRDM and possibly ban them for a short time. 2 ) You are asked by a Cadet to be trained using the @ function: I would message a Battalion member to handle this so they can ask an NCO+. If there are no Battalion on, or they take too long to respond, I will put a message in chat asking NCO+ to train a cadet. If nobody goes to train the cadet, I will start bringing NCO’s to the cadet area until one trains them. 3 ) During a debrief, a CT accidentally shoots someone, whilst trying to safety their weapon: I will not do anything here and let Battalion handle it in game. If they want me to warn the CT, I will not warn them since it was an accident. 4 ) A CT #### doesn't salute you, despite you being a rank higher than 2nd LT: If I am on my in-game job, I will remind them they technically have to salute me and leave it at that. No need for staff consequences. 5 ) Someone commits FailRP, but claims that the specific instance of FailRP is not explicitally stated within the server rules: I will verbally warn them and explain why it is still FailRP so they understand why. If they do the same thing again, I will officially warn them for FailRP. 6 ) You bring a player into a sit and punish them accordingly, however they do not agree with your punishment and keep on arguing: I will try to make them understand I am not there to go against them, but to make sure the rules are followed and that I am simply trying to explain how to not get punished again. I will explain why and how they broke the rules. If they keep arguing and being unreasonable, I will tell them they can ask for a second opinion from a different staff member. Explain in length and detail as to why you deserve staff more than other applicants. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member (250+ words): I feel like I deserve staff because I have been on the server for a long time now, and I understand how things work and operate. I am integrated within the community and I feel like I am accepted as a person. I have proved to be a serious player. If I were to join the current staff team, I feel like I would fit into it quite well. Many of its members know who I am, and I feel like the communication would go well. One of my best qualities is the fact that I am compassionate and listen to people before judging a situation. I am kind to people who are kind to me, but I will not back down when someone is being mean or difficult. I am a very persistent person and will not be easily discouraged by an inconvenience. Furthermore, I feel like the technical side of staff will be easy to pick up since my IRL job requires fast learning in the IT sector (1 year Cyber Security work experience, 2 year University degree). I have some experience dealing with unreasonable people (20k+ member discord server) so I will not have trouble dealing with minges. Being a staff member would mean the world to me. I would be able to help out the community I love and help protect it. Taking claims will make me feel like I am doing something useful on a deeper level than just playing the game. I hit a rough patch with work recently, so my activity has been lacking just a bit. Knowing that I have gotten 100+ hours within 2 weeks in the past, I know that I can put in the hours again after Christmas break in 2024 once work clears up. Not only that, but I work a flexible 32 hours a week, so I will be able to dedicate time to staff whenever I am needed. Again, I would love to be staff on CWRP and I hope you guys will give me a chance. Thanks to anyone who reads all of this to the end, and have a good day.
