They are volunteers that work with SMT to help players RP normally. A staff member will take a claim and will teleport to the person to carry out whatever task that has been requested from them. EG Giving weapons / ships or helping stuck people. Staff are also there to prevent players from breaking the rules. Have you read the server rules and are you familiar with them? Yes I know all rules and I do believe they need updating List of all previous server staff experience: I have been SWRP staff before, I have been TTT staff and death run staff Do you understand that you can be demoted at anytime with a sufficient reason by a Hierarchy member?: Yes Former Staff Questions (Remove these if you have not been staff on our server before): 1 ) For how long were you a staff member on SW-RP: Almost a year I believe 2 ) What rank did you reach before leaving the staff team: I was EXEC admin, then demoted to admin where I left 3 ) Were you demoted or did you resign? Why: I was demoted to Admin then I resigned. The demotion to admin was not fair and other SMT at the time agreed it was unfair, but a certain Com Manager took it upon himself to decide to demote me. 4 ) In hindsight, what would you have done differently as a staff member: Taken a more matured approach by thinking about things other than taking claims to better the server. 5 ) How have you improved since you left the staff team: I have matured, ie grown up. I have reached the same rank I was before I joined RC over 2 years ago. This was a very long time ago and I think that I was a much different person then. By seeing the fact that I have been trusted with Battalion Command and possibly High Command you can see that I have changed considerably since I played last time. Explain how you would handle these scenarios as a staff member: 1 ) You are told by a Player that somebody is randomly killing other clones: I would teleport to the player that was supposedly killing players. I then would pick up the Clone and I would freeze them, only if they were RDMing. However if they weren't RDMing at that current time I would detain the clone and I would check logs to see if they have killed anyone. If they have I would warn accordingly. However if they haven't warned anyone I would go back to the original person and ask him to confirm who was RDMing. 2 ) You are asked by a Cadet to be trained using the @ function: I would tell him that I will get him a trainer ASAP. I would then ask a Battalion to get a cadet trainer sent to the cadet area. I the Battalion just presses a bind and leaves it at that I will wait 2 minutes and if nobody is going, I will ask the Battalion member to send someone specific to train the cadet. If there are no Battalion on I will bring a cadet trainer to the cadet area to train the cadet. 3 ) During a debrief, a CT accidently shoots someone, whilst trying to safety their weapon: In my opinion, if you accidently shoot someone you are not at fault, because he then and there had no intention to ARDM. So I would not do anything staff wise. However CG may arrest him and I cannot do anything as a staff to stop the arrest, because it is in theory a valid arrest. 4 ) A CT #### doesn't salute you, despite you being a rank higher than 2nd LT: I would not do anything as a staff member as it has nothing to do with me. In addition nobody salutes anymore anyway. 5 ) Someone commits FailRP, but claims that the specific instance of FailRP is not explicitally stated within the server rules: I have had the same problem here with one of my warns where I was warned before the rule was even made. In my opinion it is up to the staff to confirm if what was broken was actually a rule. I do realise that in the rules it says any loopholes means harsher punishment, however if there is no rule against it then its up to SMT to update the rules. On the other hand I would still warn that person and I would direct them to the forums to make an unwarn request, because it will allow them to voice their opinion on a better avenue. 6 ) You bring a player into a sit and punish them accordingly, however they do not agree with your punishment and keep on arguing: I will accept the fact that not everybody will agree with everything I do, I then will allow that person to be returned from once they came. I will then tell them to make an unwarn/unban request or make an admin abuse request if they see fit. Explain in length and detail as to why you deserve staff more than other applicants. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member (250+ words): I have been on this server for an awfully long time, this means that my experience in dealing with players is vast and my experience in dealing with the rules is massive also. Quite a lot of current staff members have played less than me and for some applicants this is either their first time applying or their first ever regiment. Therefore in my opinion, I believe that I am better equipped at being a staff member. In addition, I have no qualms with dealing with aggressive, offensive or argumentative people. This isn't because I am stubborn or blunt, it is because I can understand a persons point of view or simply read out the rules on the server. I believe that I have a good sense of humour and I can work well with others. A large part of staffing is working with other staff members, be that by swapping off SOD or trying to find people that have broken a rule. This will also help when I am dealing with offenders, because quite a lot of people have no intention of playing within the rules and they will join the server for the sole intention to minge. In addition there are some people that have been on the server for a long time that minge a lot and I am happy to deal with them professionally. I will bring a fresh and mature insight to the staff team, by my high rank IC I can confirm that I have no intention to abuse any staff power. You can see how I have dealt with certain regiments as a supervisor that I can deal with things unlike other people.

  4. Lewis i think you walked into that last line there. RC are literally all ULX ranks with a Vice Manager an event manager a senior event planner and other ULx roles. Yet you have the most broken weaponry and your own rules for combat. Battalion have a lot of HP that is correct and it probably is unfair but in my opinion we get subsidised by lack of weaponry as Battalion can only choose 1 Piece of equipment from their supervising regiment. This can vary from a repeating blaster to a Sniper. I believe that if events are to be improved you need to fix the lag. SLT have been trying to do this for years so that can't really be done. I say this because I think that you could possibly use more event characters perhaps double and give them their regimental equipment or part of it. This can be done by making permanent EC jobs for different regiments or making weapons permanent until job change or staff being awfully quici with claims. If you get more ECs it means that you can treat it more as a skirmish and have the spawns awfully far away from the battle and the EP would act as the EC Battalion. You can also lower the HP of the ECs so that in fights its more evenly spread. This would stop things like GR pushes which are just unimaginative and unrealistic and it will allow a more widespread battle with EC own choice. In addition if you are using more clones for ECs and they are using their clone equipment or some of it, I believe that if you mess around and don't listen to EP you can be liable to IC clone punishment eg demotion, strikes. For jesi events there are a couple of ideas I have to improve them. First of all the combat isn't brilliant especially when it's lagging. I recommend doing jedi events on separate times to clone events, maybe between the hours. Eg 3 6 8. Also the force leap power is abused, in my opinion just removing this force power will benefit jedi events greatly. Most jedi can just fly to caves so that problem isn't massive. In lore you don't see jedi jumping around too often, and yes you can say "but thr server doesn't follow lore" bitch stop jumping around like a rabbit with a pogostick. This will stop jedi ecs just leaping around from place to place and will make the fighting or negotiating better. In addition I believe that Jedi only Event planners should be brought in, this is because if the jedi events are happening at different times like I suggested it will mean that normal Eps are not having to come on for a very long time. In addition it means that Jedi only eps can focus on that specific event so that it can run smoother. My final point is that we should stop using maps like Mos Mesric and the one you start on the bridge. This is because most of the fighting is a kill box and its not too enjoyable as clones if you are just holding left click. On the other hand Ecs get either raped or do the raping there is never an inbetween.

The main way staff can deal with people is by taking claims, these claims can be reports of other users breaking the rules or themselves having trouble with a problem. In addition staff can stop people they see breaking rules without taking a claim. For example if they see a CT RDMing they will have to intervene. I must say that I still disagree with the demotion and In addition to this the old Server Manager Frisby also agrees that I shouldn't have been punished. Explain how you would handle these scenarios as a staff member: 1 ) You are told by a Player that somebody is randomly killing other clones: Assuming that the Report is via a claim, I will press the teleport to player button on the claim. Then I will look at the claim to see if it has the name of the CT in it. When I get there, if I don't see the Player killing people I will teleport to the reported players name. If I see them shooting people I will strip them, because I believe that is the best and quickest way to stop them from killing people. I will grab them and take them on top of somewhere that is inaccessible to normal players. I will then warn for 1 kill (RDM). Kick and Warn for 2 Kills (RDMX2) and I will ban for more than 3 kills which I am assuming is what happend. 2 ) You are asked by a Cadet to be trained using the @ function: I will at first contact a Battalion Member and ask them to get a NCO+ to the cadet area to train said cadet. It also says in the rules that if you attempt to bypass then you will get further punishment, that is the reason for the passing on to hierarchy. 6 ) You bring a player into a sit and punish them accordingly, however they do not agree with your punishment and keep on arguing: I will tell them that my decision is final and I will refer them to the forums to make a request to change the punishment. Explain what you will bring to the staff team and your strongest assets as a person/potential staff member (250+ words): Yes I have been staff in the past and you may say give other people a chance, but this was a very long time ago and 99% of all the applicants weren't playing gmod back then so really it doesn't matter. In terms of activity I am very active, I play the server about 4 hours a night after work and on weekends I play much longer. In addition due to covid on work holidays I play about 50 hours a week. In terms of maturity most of you well know on TeamSpeak and sometimes in game I will mess about, however this is normally on TeamSpeak or in a situation where it does not detriment RP. You can see by my current employment that I can work at a top standard and focus on what I am doing whilst working at a professional standard according to the Code of Ethics. Furthermore I am currently a Battalion Brigadier which took me about 7 months to work towards. I have a lot of staffing experience and I know most if not all ULX commands up to and including Executive Admin and I also know the staff rules as they haven't changed considerably. I wasn't intending on applying for Staff due to the increase of loggings, however I realised that in game I pretty much just press my grant bind all the time, I will be able to get hundreds of claims a week. I believe that my dedication to Battalion proves that I will stay in staff a long time, In addition due to my past experience This also shows my devotion.
